I usually use Opera web browser and couldn't get in with it. Works with internet explorer though for me (You guys are going into the section for 'admitted students' right?) Edit: Hmm. nvm. I was able to go in a couple of days ago for sure; but now I get an error message as well. Maybe cause I accepted their offer?

Ok, so finally looking at the residence survey thing... :S Is it worth doing reverse psychology? or just put around average for each section? And how do we rank dio&prez?

I don't know how it works - do they pair you off with people who are the same, or opposite? And just how broad is the "same" survery? Because you could everything be the same, but one person is quiet while the other blasts their music 24/7 - would they get paired off?
For me, I put average for noise, and I think messy for cleanliness. The questionnaire itself sucks, though, the questions are so vague. Plus, I mean, especially for noise and cleanliness - it CHANGES! Sometimes when I have time, I clean up a little, other times when I'm busy I let it get a little custy. Same with noise, if there's a party going on/it's the weekend, yeah, i don't caare if the music's blasting. But if I have an exam/test/essay due, I would prefer quiet.
Well, anyway, my top 3 are single rooms so hopefully I won't have a roommate, and I'm sure I'll be able to work stuff with my floormates.
apparently, Dio and Prez are only available to upperclassmen only?

Really? darn.
Is Molson really popular? Do lots of people put it as their number 1?
Also, how likely is it to get choice 8-13? Because that's where i've ranked RVC, Greenbriar, and I really don't want to get stuck there. Now I'm scared.

If greenbriar is not your top choice you wont get it, i think its like that for Douglas and definately for the more houses simply because of its small size. Molson, Gardner, McConnel are better bets if you put them first, but I knew quite a few people who got "stuck" in solin and places like RVC instead. I dont think ive heard of anyone not getting into solin if they placed it first. On a side note solin is really nice, ive spent a great deal of time there and even though the vast majority were upset that they got placed in solin, most grow to love it. Thats more than I can say for Mcconnell, where I merely learnt to deal with the closet sized room, lack of privacy, and crappy caf food. And i do remember the mcgill in mind website not working very well last year, its mostly useless anyways.

guys, since you are in engineering, how are the sience labs/facilities/equipment? pretty good? nothing spectacular? I meant to visit it during the openhouse and never got to and now i'm sort of getting antsy about it. I know Queen's chem lab was brand spanking new and reallly tempting. So they were showing it off lol.

These are my choices 1. Molson Hall 2. Gardner 3. Douglas single 4. Douglas double 5. McConnell single 6. MORE house double 7. MORE house single 8. New Rez 9. Greenbriar double 10.Greenbriar single 11.RVC single 12. RVC double 13. Solin double 14. Solin single I wouldn't mind getting anything in my top 4 (although I really want Molson). I know that there are 700 students housed in BMH. So I'm hoping the odds are in my favor. because even if I get like 1656th place (out of 2000 and some odd), there's a good chance 700 of those people will place New Rez higher than Upper Rez). And then RVC takes up a good portion of spots too, and then I'm hoping I get Molson (or Gardner or Douglas). I guess McConnell would be ok, but single sex wings sound really lame. MORE house is too much of a gamble, plus I think it'd be ok to have a mealplan first year just until I settle down. New Rez is too far, security would get annoying, and I wouldn't want to have a 7 day meal plan. And the rest I'm not considering, so I don't want them especially.

if you flattened out the hill, new rez would technically be closer than bmh( maybe a little further than doug ). plus theres that whole walking UP the hill thing that does get frustrating at times. the security at new res IS very annoying though.

Yeah, but with Upper Rez, there's more of a community feel because the building's are fairly close together and there's space to hang out and party. With New Rez, where will you hang out on nice days? On the street?

lol I messaged peter, the guy that did the mcgilltour videos on you tube... If you could do rez all over again which would you pick? Did Molson live up to its party rep?. and he replied with this: Quote:hey,
you'll find out soon that the real party's in the city. rez parties pale in comparison. but yes, there was a good amount of drinking in molson. i'm happier in an apartment. you want a party? choose solin, upper rez, or new rez. remember, you can just walk over to another rez that's having a party.
cheers pete haha
