This year I have applied to 8. I got one semi-finalist notification so far, 3 have already announced the winners. They are a lot of work so make make sure your still keeping up in school. Its hard to win unless raised thousands of dollars for a charity you started or both you parents died in a tragic way - something rediculous. But keep trying! The more you apply the more chances you have of winning.

It's really sad to know, that the only way you are going to get money around this place, is if your parents died in a horrible way. pfft. Don't get any ideas kids lol.

Anyways, so in regards to my other post, I qualified for a busary from Brock for 1250.00 which is pretty sweet, except for the fact that I DONT WANT TO GO THERE!!!! bom lol. It'd be awesome if I'd get a letter from the Universities I have narrowed it down to. but no!!!

Even still, this money Brock is offering me, does not even put a dent into how much it would cost to go to school there for 4-5 years. I figure, if i was there for 5 years, I stayed on residence and got a meal plan, and it cost me about $15,000.00 each year, it would cost me $75,000, In comparison, if I was to stay here and take the bus to school, it would cost, for four years (The length of the program) spending about $8000.00 max, each year, it would cost altogether $32,000.00.

Darn u can go to school for 15gs a year? Queen's is going to run me 20.

Damm u can go to school for 15gs a year? Queen's is going to run me 20.

Yeah, well it's Queen's, so that could be why. That $15,000 would be $5,500.00 for tuition, $1,000 for books, $2,500.00 for meal plan, $5,000.00 for residence, and then the little rest for laundry and stuff. That $15,000.00 does not include entertainment. But that's the most expensive end. If I were to rent somewhere off campus would would most likely be a thousand dollars or so cheaper, maybe more. It's just a general estimation.

Whereas, sticking around here, I would not have to pay for residence or a meal plan, and just the tuition and books, and what not. Therefore $5,500.00 tuition, $1000.00 for books, leaves me with $1,500.00 left over to play around with.

Success is not the key to happiness, happiness is the key to success. If you love what you do in life, you will be a success!!

So far, I've applied for Loran, Millennium, Wendy's, Kin Canada, a local scholarship offered by my middle school, as well as several scholarships and bursaries offered by schools that I have applied for. So far, I have won a few bursaries for some of the schools I have applied for, but I haven't won any major awards unfortunately.

The competition just from people in this site is RIDICULOUS! Be proud of anything you can get. Bursaries are amazing, too. Way to go!!!!

I have no idea how some of you have found 30 to apply for. I guess at the U of A though you only fill out two or three application forms to be considered for hundreds of scholarships.

I applied for Millenium last year, spent a ton of time on it, and then didn't realize there was a limit on how much scholarship money you're allowed. Lame.

I got a bunch of entrance scholarships last year and I've applied for 5 or so for my second year, with more applications coming out soon.

I hate applying for scholarships, most of them are such a pain haha!

But last year I applied for 2 and got one, and this year I applied for one and I'm not sure if I've gotten it or not.

The problem is so many scholarships require essays but my industry is more practical than the need to know how to write a good essay, you know?

I have applied at least over 20 scholarships and I have a 90 average and countless extra-curricular and countless volunteer works and two job experiences but I have not receive a single scholarship. I think I applied the wrong ones where there is only one grand prize for the nation. At the same time I don't know if I can get 10 still waiting for results.
