Not everyone has to plummet in university...

Grade 12: 92%
First year: 91%
Second year: 90%
I'm starting to notice a trend, and I actually expect about an 89% in third year.

Sad thing is I consider anything less than 85 poor. There used to be a time when I thought anything higher than an 80% was awesome.

Is there anyone out there that doesn't have 90s or 80s?

That way I can feel calm about my mark

Don't worry about it, just continue to work hard this semester/final half.

I slacked off first semester and pumped it up in the second and now my Top 6 currently is ~93.66.

Although true, that is not how it works for me.

To begin with, I am in a competitive-entry program full of med hopefuls, so I actually have to do well to stay in it (the cut-off going into second year was 84%, and going into third year it was 79%). I say 85 because that is the borderline between a 3.7 and a 3.9 at Western. I plan on applying to grad school in the States (I kind of have to actually), and the entering average for the program I plan on applying to is usually about a 3.8. Given that I will be applying as an international student, I particularly have to do well. Most importantly, however, is that I have grown accustom to getting 90 give or take a few %. And my roommate and I are also quite competitive, so yeah... Who doesn't want to do well? And it isn't like I spend much time studying either (only about average)... I'm just one of those fortunate douches with a good memory and good study habits.

I understand what you are saying. I remember back in elementary school when they began giving grades in percentage form, having an 80% was amazing. As I got older and my grades went up, you become accustomed to a certain percent (That is good for you) and anything lower seems horrible.

This IS a scholarship site.. so I'd assume a lot of the people here are probably at the top of their classes. AND the ones with good marks tend to be more willing to post their marks than those with not-so-high marks.
So.. don't feel too bad about that.

In grade 11 my average was 79 so i just missed out on honour roll which was dissapointing.

So far this year in greade 12 first semester i got 83.5% and of course i need an 84 to be in the next entrance scholarship bracket. So far this semester its going better and my average is 88%. So i hope and am trying very hard for the end of the year to be over 84%.

Anything over 90% (paper-wise) is publishable. Congratulations, I will be looking for your next article.

That sucks that you have put that pressure on yourself to do that well.
Teachers see those marks as amazing in some courses and so should you.
