Reason for doing this: originally just to have a shot at the money. I think that is most people's reasoning... but I've really become a little more interested in this. I like being able to share with people in a similar situation. Going to postsecondary without enough money to pay for it. Sure I can get student loans, and there are other scholarships out there too! But every little bit helps. I think that this is something nice because although you dont HAVE to put alot of effort into this to get your five posts or whatever, some people are. There is a genuine interest in the topic of scholarships and education and such, which is refreshing to read about when there are so many apathetic people out there in the world.

My reason for doing this is because it seems like an easy way of attempting to win $100! Not a whole lot of money but any little bit helps!

I like interacting with other students that are in the same position as me, preparing be a frosh. It allows me to see other peoples opinions on the same questions I have been asking myself, and it gives me tons of information.

When I finish college, I plan on going to Australia with a working holidays Visa for one year.
To have access to that, I need to have 5,000$ in my bank account.
That would be fine if I didn't have to pay for school. This scholarship is the first one I'm applying too, but it definitly won't be the last.

Same as everybody - The money. Also, though, talking to people about starting college/uni will be great for me.

the reason why i am doing this is because i am going on an international exchange to Lancaster University in England next year and i'm going to be working all summer!! so i definately would love a bit of spare cash that i don't have to work my butt off for!! and i can use it to help pay for necessities i need to take over to england...shall be exciting!!

Hey do you have to send 5 messages to this "Forum five contest" to be eligible to win a prize or can you send messages to other topics as well?

Besides applying for scholarships through your university, if you look else where will you hear back from them? Like whether or not you received the award or not? The news paper really does promote scholarships?

Same Here. Just for a bit of spare money for post-secondary education. *Crossing Fingers* smile
I guess many of us are in the same boat. Good luck!

I would need a lot money for school starting next year and haven't gotten any scholarship yet (that's not true, I've gotten a $20 gift card from Wendy's XD that counts right?), so any amount of money would be nice.
