Yeah I'm in university this year, almost 20k later, I really need money to pay for college next year. Any little bit of money can really help, because I am on my own paying for school. I really don't want to have to borrow money from a bank, because that will end in me paying more than I intend to pay.

I could really use this $100, it could pay for a least a few books in first year university (which I'm hoping to get into). This is really a great way to communicate with other people who are in the same position as I am right now.

Try something like 1.2 books, if you are lucky. Hahaha.

I am doing this because of course, school is expensive, and I am already in my first year of college, but my 2nd year will b more expensive. I used student loans last year, which was like $11 000 !!!! Or close to that anyways. I was looking for some scholarships that are not for people who are just graduating high school, so hopefully this one is one of them. I'm moving to BC for college next year so I really hope that if I don't get this scholarship, I will get this one or a few...it would really help, because college and living in BC is sooo expensive!!

Why wouldn't anyone do this? I mean I haven't checked how many people have each posted 5 statements, but I'm sure there is quite a few, so the chances of winning are probably quite slim. Even still it is worth a shot, it doesn't take up too much of your time, and you get to converse about the topics of your own choice with other people in similar situations. $100 you win is $100 you won't have to make up somewhere else, every bit counts, lets face it university does not come cheapexclamation

Well, I like forums.

and $100 is alot. It would pay for most of my required textbooks (which are pretty much novels) each are about 15 bucks each... so yea it would really benefit me alot. smile

HI Everyone,

I'm new to this type of forum so please bare with me. I'm a 38yr old single mom of three children who has nearly completed my first year towards a BA in ECE. Once my BA is completed I'm planning on attending Teacher's College. This school year has been a complete struggle on me financially, since I no longer have my full-time job, and I didn't qualify for OSAP (due to financial difficulties in my past). How do I go about qualifying for scholarships? I don't have time to be writing 2000 - 6000 word essays, especially on topics that I know nothing about. If anyone could offer me some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Well I've been to OttawaU in theatre and left and now I'm coming back to school in September for TV Broadcasting. But I can only rely on myself financially! So 100$ seems small but it'll buy you that book you need!

Well there is the obvious $100 that is irrisistable but I also like being able to see that a lot of people have the same questions I have. I am a first year student about to go into my second year and this is uch a new experience and there are soooo many questions that the university doesn't answer. So, bsically I like bing able to chat with otehr people in the same situations

Getting this scholarship would just assist my costs for university that little bit more. It's $100 I wouldn't have then. Everything helps! Plus my university (Acadia) is super expencive to attend so I need any scholarships I can get!

This scholorship would be a great help. My mom is trying to do her best to get money ready for when I leave for university, but its difficult as a single parent on disability. So im begining to apply for scholarships to try to help, and ill be applying for student loans and what not as well. As every little bit helps!

The reason I am doing this is because I think that it is a great idea and program to get students talking to one another about concerns that they have and its an easy way to possible get some money!
