Watz up?

Im in Gr. 11, and have an 81 avg. (90-accounting, 85-bio, 81- Geo, 70- Math)

I wanna apply to U of T for Humanities/Social Sciences. .. i think my gr. 12 marks will be better cause i don't got stupid math.

Any who, a lot of nerds are getting like 95%+ and are worried about acceptance, Einfo says u need like mid-high 70z

Who the F is right? - Basically what was the entering avg. last year i know Mcgill was 86.5%..... how bout U of T

BTW: Thx for any help.

Arts at UTSG average was 83.1. Almost a third of students entering UTSG for social sci had less than 80% average.

UTSC and UTM averages were high 70s.

As a point of comparison, McMaster and York's averages were 81.

Heads up bro, if you got a decent mark in high school, what makes you think you'll do well in first year?

My friends who scored 96% in High School while taking all sciences, and got into Life Science at UTSG almost failed first year... i mean there are countless examples bro... I dont know your study habits and shiit like that but it is possible to get 95%+ and still be able to party and go about ur daily life... u dont gotta do ur hmwk everyday... just understand the shiit... anyways.... just making it clear that you shouldnt call people just cuz they can get a grade.... just because a kid can get a 2 digit number that might represent his ability, grades dont accurately measure the ability of a person... for one thing, countless variables influence grades, and they standardize that shiiit... so an 81 is good man, ur good enough for humanites/social sciences at U of T... i doubt youll get early acceptance cuz they are not outstanding, but youll get into U of T cuz they like accepting so many people and then knowing most dropout, free money for them-more endowment for research/grads etc. just take that into consideration...

Einfo is right, u just need that average to just make it at the cutoff or above... its safer to be above the cutoff because they do get a lot of Applicants... also it depends on ur program... if you do poli sci or anything of that nature it will be more difficult... again... higher is always better... and if you can, explain your math mark, cuz U of T takes into account that if you messed up a course with a valid reason, you will be able to e-mail their admissions committee and explain.

^ Yeah, I agree. You'll likely be accepted, just not early. Relax, the 95 neurotics get on everyone's nerves.

Don't get influenced by others too much and party all day...I heard some students from UTSG doesn't know when to stop partying because they get influenced by downtown culture.

Stop quoting CUDO stas in every thread. The cutoff is much lower and you might confuse these kids. You could get into U of T St. George with "mid to high 70's" according to Einfo.

if you're a 80+ average person, getting in = not that difficult
staying in = probably much more difficult : )

Applied: UBC: Science, SFU: Health Sciences, UofT: Life Sci-New College, McGill: Biomedical sciences
Accepted: UBC: Science, SFU: Health Sciences, UofT: Life Sci-New College, McGill: Biomedical sciences
Going to: UofT: Life Sci-New College
don't ask why I'm not going to McGill. I like UofT better with the programs that they offer and such.
Med school isn't my first priority.

Generally, getting into U of T isn't that hard... I mean, I know like, I would say, more than 200 people who got in. It really depends on the program. Of course, don't worry if your marks do drop in first year, that's normal. Just keep fighting, you'll get used to it. :]

People in high school tend to have an inflated idea of what is needed for UofT. It's really not all that difficult. You don't need to struggle to maintain your 95% average. Getting into university altogether isn't really that hard unless you're going for a few select programs that are very competitive.

This isn't America people... our top schools are relatively easy to get into. Staying in is the hard part.

Humanities? Don't worry bro you could get in with a mid-high 70s.
Humanities are not that difficult as well, they have decent class averages, are interesting and have TONS of choices for courses.
