McMaster's campus is soo nice. Live on campus if you get the chance. The surrounding neighbourhoods are nice too though.

The campus is great, compact, and very homely -- a great environment for learning. You should visit the campus sometime!

So, I'm probably a little biased, but I love the Mac's campus and the surrounding area. Not only is it easy to navigate, but it's really quaint and welcoming. And small enough that you're always seeing people you recognize when you're out and about. I presonally didn't visit the campus before I came, but I'm so glad I chose Mac. And as a rez kid, I feel like living on campus gave me a real sense of belonging and introduced me to some of my current best friends. I have friends who live off campus though, and they say it's a little hard at first, but just as fun.

Wonderful this is reassuring, I've been accepted to Mac it's my first choose, but I haven't had a chance to visit yet. It's a few hours from where I live now, and it's good to hear it's in a good, easy navigatable neighbour, because the University in my hometown is not.

You'll love Westdale/ spend waaaay to much money there. I won't lie, it's a little intimidating at first, but you'll easily catch on. Most people are really friendly and always willing to help with directions. And once you learn which buses get you back on campus (the 1, 5abc,10 and 51) Hamilton becmoes easier too.

i have thought about what i would do if i were to attend mcmaster and i believe the best thing to do is live on campus for the first year, get the experience and make some new friends. this experience will be good for you and then live at home after. that way you get to experience it but also save some money.

The Mac campus is super nice. I really like how its kind of on its own from the city, surrounded by Westdale Village. No traffic on campus besides roads to parking lots and campus vehicles, so its very pedestrian and bike friendly. Campus is a mix of old and new buildings, and just gave me a classic image of university campuses. Real Harvard style in some areas, at least the Harvard seen on old college movies or more recently Across the Universe. Not all across campus, but some areas are old school like that. Lots of green space too. This is just what I got from the tour on March Break.
Definitely going to go to res first year, I think it will be really fun and also productive. Convenient too.

Agreed, although I can't live at home any year, but some friends of mine go there and instead of trying to get a place with them I'm definitely going to try living on campus first. Plus you have loads in common with your neighbours and I'm always late, so if class is only a few minute walk from my bed I can see things going better. I just need a room where I can cook. I eat like a freak where talking midnight meals, inventing food, that looks like a shoe freak and I can't eat out everyday. I can't image someone else cooking for me for as long as a week. I'm serious I starting cooking for myself as soon as I could turn on the stove (this does not mean i'm any good) p.s. thanks Blythe

So be careful of that. McMaster '12!
