I would stay and become a perpetual student. I'd get ridiculous, unusable degrees like PhD's in Philosophy and Latin. I'd also buy an apartment so I could worry less about living expenses in Montreal. McGill could help me burn through five million pretty fast.

If you took $5 million, and didn't invest it at all, it could support you at $100,000 per year for 50 years. Now, you'd be pretty dumb not to invest it; and if you got a 5% return on it (and you can probably expect higher over the long run), you could live off of $250,000 per year without digging into the principal (well, before tax concerns..)

So basically, while there are ways to blow through $5 million fast, tuition fees at universities aren't that high razz Now, if you want to blow through money fast, I'm sure McGill would take it and name a building after you or somethign.. razz

stay. i've realized the changes that a university environment brings to one's personality, thinking, and perspective; without it, i wouldn't have known myself half as well as i do now. high school SUCKED; university is cool (or then maybe it's because i've passed through those teen years that univ seems the preferred choice...hmm)

I would stay in school and would be SOOOOO happy to not have to worry about money anymore! Especially since my chosen profession does not make a whole lot... This way I could just enjoy what I will be doing, without worrying about whether or not I can make ends meet!

I'd stay in school. But after that...buy a penthouse in N.Y., some beach houses in Miami and Cali, a few cribs across Europe, a Bugatti Veyron, and...a lollipop.

I wouldn't quit school if I did indeed win 5 million. You don't want to be rich and the same time be stupid, because you don't have any education. smile smile
I would Invest in it and donate to the needy family in Africa.

I would definitely stay in school and get my degree. I don't want to be rich with an incomplete education, i wouldn't feel that sense of accomplishment. The 5 million would be great to pay off the tuition and any other bills.

I would definitely stay in school.
Five million dollars is a lot but if you are not a responsible spender it won't last that long.
If and when it ran out, you wouldn't have a means of supporting yourself.
I would probably use it to pay for my education and give a considerable amount to charity.
I would use the rest to travel ;)
