From what I know, in Queen's engineering they really work hard to recruit girls but I think the ratio is like one girl for every 3 guys, still better than some other schools I guess.

Yes. Most of the girls I know have gone into civil or materials. In mechanical there are hardly any girls. I am one of the few.

There's about 20 girls out of about 150 in my program, give or take, I think (Electrical engineering).
Though some of those people (the 20 or the 150) might be in computer eng., so I'm not entirely sure. About that, anyway.
Girls all go into chemical.

It's not for girls.

Only women!

You know what they say about ECE...

'Only program where the girls have more hair than the guys'

While I'm at it,

I've seen better looking burn victims than engineering girls

Or, being subject to girls that are below average on a consistent basis, has degraded your standard of what's attractive.
For instance, imagine watching B&W TV for 6 months (B&W is equivalent to non-attractive girls), but then let's say you start watching color TV (average plain girls)...OMG, THIS IS AMAZING....truth is, it isn't...because you can get High-Definition TV (good looking ones).

Haha, well average plain girls in Engineering can look super attractive to me (yes I'm straight, lol). They've got brains to compensate for not being overtly smokin' - and we all know, intelligence can make hormones steam. Or.. I guess. I guess we *are* talking about guys here. Any guy for brain over body? Or at least gives the brain that 0.1% chance over the whole booty drive thing?

many guys don't know what they want and/or what's important about girls.

to some of you hair colour is so important and not realising that colour can be changed and is changed constantly by some girls, I mean arts/humanities girls.

I know one guy who got married and He didn't know that his girlfriend's hair colour is not her natural colour:-)

guys want to have a beautiful girlfriend and he gets "dumbo".

i would rather marry engineering girl than any artsies ,
Engineering girls are SMART, INTELIGENT and good hearted.

Going into the program, I didn't really know that there would be so few girls in the faculty, but it's been alright so far, you get to know your fellow eng. girls that much more. yeah, at queen's, from my classes i'd say it's around 30:70 ish? you forget about it after the first week though.
From the girls i've talked to, a lot of them do want to go into chem, civil, applied math, though I personally am super interested in going into gelogical/environmental or eng phys.

A lot of compsci girls are super tiny asian girls, and I really can't say I've noticed a tendency for CS girls to be any larger even excluding the aforementioned asian girls.

I'm not saying you should go hang out in the CS department if you're looking for the hottest chicks around, but...

FAQ's:
1. Will I get in? See: electronicinfo.ca for Ontario schools. If you have a couple percent above the marks there and it's not looking at supplementary, the answer is almost certainly yes.
2. Anything else: Google it before asking.

Well, you're going to get some uggos and some good looking girls in every faculty. I think in engineering because there are so few girls, it's easy to say there aren't a lot of good looking girls, when the proportion is probably about the same, there's just less of them so you notice it more.

Lol well I've only met like 2 so if I'm allowed to count that as an accurate sample size...
We lack asian girls in comp sci at UofT tho..
The tiny asian girls are only found in hard math classes, with super neat notes.
I just wanna teef their notebook lol. My notes are so crap, I think I unlearn stuff by looking at them.
