Just wondering how much everyone's parents are paying for their university. I just have to pay for my personal expenses and my parents and I are trying to figure out if I should pay for my books as well.

Family tradition, my dad pays last year I guess as an added incentive to get there and stuff. Other than that, he's just chipping in for small stuff like my Grey Hound tickets and stuff. I'm sure if I got into a huge hole he'd help me out though.

I'm living at home, so that's living expenses and whatnot covered.
Tuition and books are more than paid for by scholarships for my undergrad years.

Nothing family just can't simply afford to pay for anything. I'm paying everything myself now that I got a job. Food, Rent, entertainment, cell phone bill, everything. They just let me live at home

I'm living at home and my scholarships have covered everything so far. I know my parents would help me out if I needed it. My mom paid for my school supplies this year and sometimes when I go shopping with her she'll pay for other personal stuff. My parents are also paying for my $1400 car repair.

My parents are helping me as much as they can. They are probably paying for the bulk of my undergrad, but if I decide to go further, I will probably have to pay most of it.

My parents have around 18k-20k saved up for my education (some sort of education fund program they started when I was born). I've got that and they will probably be paying little things like my cell phone bill and basic necessities. I've still got grade 12 to go so I guess things could change for better or for worse, lol.

$0. but im confident that they would pay the full fee if my bank was empty. But i guess, considering they feed, clothe and provide shelter - thats $priceless$. Ha, should make a VISA commercial using that!

Haha, same pretty much. Actually since gr 11 really since I started working... I live at home, but anything and everything other than snack bars and the odd meal comes out of my pocket. Which kind of stinks but I like my pt job so it's all good.

Nothing at all. In fact, my mom was shocked to hear that tuition wasn't the only costs, and that said tuition wasn't for all 4 yours, but just one...
However, I will be able to stay home to save myself money.

You mean they don't even allow you to eat food at home? What kind of parents are they anyway?

My parents put in RESPs since i was born but that is all they can afford. i got great scholarships so they really don't need to give me anything. I know they would if I didn't have the funds.

i remember when my sister needed money for school my dad bought a boat, fixed it up, sold it and gave her all the profits.

It sounds like they use to pay for food but just because the guy got a job they even stopped that. I wonder how they police the fridge? Do they put a lock on it so the guy can only get snack bars from the cupboard?

The whole thing sounds pretty nasty to me. You got to wonder why they even had children?
