Hey, I just picked my courses out today for the pre program.
I'm wondering, is it a requirement to take a course from the humanities department for pre program? And i have taken 4 courses per semester, which will give me a total of 4 credits by the end of the year, I know that is the minimum amount of credits you have to take when you want to be considered for second year, but do they give preference to people with 5 courses?

If UTSC is the same as UTSG, yes, all students should have at least 1.0 credits from each of the science, social science and humanities departments. You don't have to fulfill these in your first year... just have one of each by the time you graduate.
As for taking 4.0 credits, you'll need to have 20.0 credits by the time you graduate, so unless you are planning to make up that extra credit in the summer or by taking an extra course in one of your later years (which will be tougher than taking 5.0 courses in first year), I would suggest that you take a normal course load in first year. However, I don't think you would be at any disadvantage in terms of preferences.
