Okay so I know there's like a million of these topics going on right now since OSAP just released a whole bunch of loan statements, but I don't want to thread jack anybody and take away from their questions, so here's my concern:

OSAP is saying that they need to verify my income that I reported through the CRA, problem is I don't remember a section stating to record my income. I remember a part stating how much I had in assets, and bank funds etc. So basically if they check with the CRA and realize I earned more than I claimed am I in trouble? What I claimed was what I actually estimated I would have by the end of summer, and since I'm recently out of a job, I'm on the border or just below the figure I said I'd have. Say I earned X amount but claimed on the form Y amount, and Y is significantly lower than X, would they deem that a "significant variance" that I'm responsible for? In the dream world sure I would have saved all the money I made since February, but reality is theres been so much I needed to pay for just this summer alone, that the amount I have would be like paying down a penny on a thousand dollar bill.

I'm so lost right now, the funding they say I'll receive is way lower than all the estimates, but that doesn't matter to me right now. Basically I'm just scared they cut down the amount of funding I receive or they say I'm trying to defraud them, and get fined or something. I can't go to jail, I'm too young and I have slippery handsworry lol!!

They will verify your summer income with you when you go to get the OSAP forms at your school in September.

Okay, and also, under the Checklist section, is that a generic reminder or is that different for each individual case. As in, will each link disappear after it has been taken care of? Or does it remain there just so you know? It says that "Student must provide supporting documentation" - ie. the signature sheets, which I sent to Western like 3 weeks ago. Is that just there as a reminder, or do they actually not have my supporting documentation, in which case I need to call Western and say WTF?!?!

At this point in time you have provided estimates of income. At a later date, you will be asked to report actual income. Being off on the estimates could result in them taking money off your 2nd semester or making you repay it. Being off when you report what you actually earned is where they can withhold any future funding, etc.

It's not entirely unreasonable for Western to have had your signature sheets for a bit and not gotten around to processing them. I'd be inclined to call if it hasn't updated in another week or so.

So you're saying that once Western has processed it, that link under Checklist will disappear?

lime boy, the Checklist is accessed when you log on to OSAP and then click the Check Status link.

UPDATE: I logged onto my student profile at Western, and it states "Your 2008-2009 OSAP application has been received by the Registrar's Office and the processing has been completed. Note that your loan document(s) are not available for pick up. Please check back for your loan availability."
So that means everything is good right? It still says supporting documentation required on the OSAP site under checklist, but the Registrar at Western says they got that stuff, so I should be good right?

It sounds like everything is ready to go, and that they just have to get the money ready for your pick-up.
