There's very little I can't listen too. As a vocalist and an artist I appriciate anything creative. When I listen to talented people play or sing and I can tell they're putting everything into their songs I can get emotional because I know what it's like to be the one preforming. Music is my safe haven, a place where it doesn't matter who I am because I am perfectly understood. It's the words I don't have, it's my emotions unleashed, music is my life at it's core... yeah, I'm pretty extreme. I particularly love clear voices like Josh Groban's or Amy Lee's, all music is beautiful but there's something about a clear voice that gives me shivers.

I'm starting to get really depressed at the state of popular music nowadays. Seriously, we need a change from the same boom chika rap beats and the over dramatized gheto life.

Were is the metal?

The state of metal right now is, the more technical the better... but what happened to simplicity is the key? Metallica, Judas Priest?

Even Punk is getting worse. Their arn't too many bands like NOFX and Rancid comming out with music anymore!

I just wish it would get better, and I try my best to make music like that.cheers

Agreed, but I just think that means you have to search a bit harder. Myspace and Purevolume, yay razz
I'm actually not a very big fan of metal but for now we're on the same side....
Right now, there's a ska/punk/pop (4th wave if you will) about to happen, but there isn't much straight up, hardcore punk, like not the 70s Sex pistols schtuff, but the 80s Minor Threat, Bad Religion that is loud, political (and know what they're talking about...) AND is fast. I can honestly count the number of bands that have this style on one hand, especially for new bands, even after all the searching.

p.s. Without techno and gangsters, who would we be left to make fun of? There are only so many metalhead jokes before you get windmilled by one....

I love music! I listen to a lot of oldies like Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, CCR, The Guess Who, and etc, etc, etc!! I also love Red Hot Chili Peppers, Third eyed blind, Oasis, Vertical Horizon, Smashing pumpkins, Nirvana, and many many more! I hate any type of rap and hip hop. I'm not so crazy of pop singers either like you know Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Pink, Kelly Clarkson...those kinds of singers...

Has anybody listened to a fine frenzy? anyways they're a great band!. I recommend you listen to their song "almost lover" if you haven't already that is. I've been playing them over and over again but I'm also into Paola Nutini, James Morrison, Stanfour, Augustana, As tall as lions, Leeland, the last goodnight, and finally Sia. And last but not least my guilty pleasure at the moment is...
" break the ice" by Britney spears...I know its shameful isn't it, but its great for some dancingsmile

Though a lot of people in the typical college age range don't listen to it, I HIGHLY reccommend Blue Rodeo. Jim Cuddy has the voice of an angel and the music is nicely varied. It always has kind of a rootsy appeal but there are also songs that sound more rock (Walk Like You Don't Mind), some that are very country (3 Hours Away), some that are more like pop ('Til I Am Myself Again) and some that are slow and some that are fast. It's a great mix and they've been around for 20 years.

I listen to a bit of everything. On a daily basis, I usually listen to Rap/RnB/Hip Hop/Dancehall/Soca/Reggae, but I also like listening to Rock, Club Music, and even some Country(Rascall Flats).

Music is my life, without it I would go crazy... It is what keeps me sain. Whenever I need something to make me feel better (like if I had a bad day) I turn on the radio and after a while I feel better. I love all kinds of music as long as it doesnt swear every other word and it doesnt sound like it hurts - singers who scream what they say, as a singer myself I know how it must hurt the voice after awhile and it sounds like it wouold hurt.

As I mentiond I am a singer, I have been singing my whole life... I started choir in grade 4 and I am graduating this year. Even before that I was singing. Not a day goes by that I dont listen to music and sing along to it. Even as I write this I have the radio on and singing along. thumleft

i love everything. i dont understand how some people can be so closed-minded and say i only like this type or genre of music, especially when genres are being mixed all the time. i like anything from country to jazz to pop to rap to heavy metal. smile
