hm choose the right corses for you and just know u have to work ur butt off next year becuase thats when it'll count my mark in math went from 70 to 93 in gr 11 to gr 12 and i got in some good programs so don't worry about ur marks now, however a good foundation is important too

From what I have seen, the worst mistake people can make in grade 11 is not choose the right subjects for grade 12, other than that most people at my school just studied and went with the flow.

Choosing your courses in grade 11 appropriately is the main thing. Your marks don't matter that much in grade 11. Don't take that as an invitation to completely slack off - having good marks will help you get in sooner, and if you totally slack off in grade 11 and don't learn the concepts, grade 12 will be that much harder. With regards to early admissions, the definition of "good" varies by program. Some accept very few people before the 2nd semester midterms are in from grade 12; some will send out offers very early on to people with low 80's in grade 11.

No, no, no! I agree with Kaylya, choosing your courses is important, so it's good to have a vague idea of what you want to do. If you don't, however, don't panic! Most people I know didn't know what they wanted to do until this year (and a lot still have no idea, which is fine too - despite popular opinion). Your marks won't make a huge difference, but it's good to keep them high because they can help you (I got into Laurier based on my Grade 11 marks). Don't worry about getting into university. Do the best you can & that's all anyone can ask for. Even in the most dire circumstances, things can always do a complete 180. For example, two months ago we weren't even sure my boyfriend could graduate (stupid Calc), and now not only does he have the credits he needs, but he got into the program he wanted with an entrance scholarship!
