Math - 97
English - 80 +
Physics - 83 +
Bio - 86
Socials Studies - 83 +
I am either wanting to apply for Criminology, Science or Engineering at either UBC or SFU. In general are those grades something I should worry about?

Titling your thread and ending your post with opposite questions has potential to cause mega confusion.
To answer your initial question yes. To answer your final question no. For those schools and programs your marks should be fine.

rofl? nope... just keep em there and dont let em slide and you'll be more than fine.. maybe not early acceptance to some of the more competitive programs.. but you should get in most places... that math mark is really helping.. so keep it there! and try to get those plusses up to around the 6's and 7's higher if possible

I was aiming for 86's but I really have a bad habit of getting bad marks in the exam. I dont know why. In all of those courses I was getting like 89 and low 90s, but i do do bad in the exams it drops me to an 80 +.

Actually, I think you might want to aim a little higher for UBC Science, a friend of mine got rejected with an 86. You work out to an 87.2, which should be ok, just make sure you don't drop anymore.

Quit worrying.
I never ever thought about university once when I was in grade 11.

Well supposedly in B.C. universities start looking at gr.10 marks.
But you know what I think I may have decent marks, and my volunteer is excellent (police youth program)! Also I maintained a job at Slaveway.
Do teachers bump 83s to 86s?

Do teachers bump 83s to 86s? Teachers shouldn't be bumping grades at all. That's unethical. Yes, not even a bump for __.something because universities (or at least, the ones I applied to) will calculate the points exactly. No university in Canada uses your grade 10 or grade 11 marks to calculate admissions. Grade 11 marks may only be used for early acceptance but still then your problem is Grade 12. Just because you get accepted with Grade 11 doesn't mean you can stop worrying... And just because your Grade 11 sucks doesn't mean it's a problem. One volunteer activity isn't excellent. I'd be wary if I were you of saying volunteer is excellent... I tallied about 500 hours a year for volunteer and still there are people better than me. Plus, does UBC and SFU admissions to those programs even ask for supplementary information? I really doubt SFU does, so it doesn't matter... UWO 2012

Ok thats cool but I feel bad having a B in physics.
Does transcripts show lettergrades or percentage? Becasue 86 is an A. If not then I should sleep well I guess.

wtf :S i always though 80-89 was an A and 70-79 was a B... trust me man.. they see percentages... they dont have time to weed out applications for people within letter grades... 10 percent is HUGE...

Another question;
So lets say my highschool says 73-85 is a B and 86 and higher is an A. Lets also say the University UBC says 80-89 is an A. When UBC is reviewing my application and they say I have an 83 hypothetically would they administer that as an A for them or "weed" it out to see the grade criteria of the school.

They'll stick to percentages and averages. They won't mark it as a letter grade at all. The cut off grade is not going to be a letter grade it's going to be a percentage.

Hey so my english dropped down to 76 because supposedly I did... horrible... on my exam. Pretty funny because I felt confident with it and when I feel confident after an exam it would be a high A not a c-. Probably he got angry when I made a letter addressing the more time issue and from then on I learned on not to piss off the teacher in any way shape or form. Physics became an 82.
Summer school for english online is a best bet? I am taking that alongside with chem 11 at school.

I'm confused. You got 76 in english 11 and you want to take summer school? Grade 11 doesn't matter. Just don't mess up next year.

IMO, you’re doing amaaazing! Take a deep breath and chill =) You've done really well in gr 11 - now just concentrate on keeping these marks up gr 12, or aiming for higher. But only worry about this once you reach gr 12.

Ok I will. I guess I wont take english summer school.
A question I have is when I called the UBC admission administration they said they dont look at grade 11 marks...
But my counsellor at high school and students says otherwise... Who should I believe?
When would grade 11 GPA matter?
