here's a question nem99...who do you hate more: BC or Quebec? (i only say this because almost every albertan i've met has had this large hatred for quebec for some reason)

Good question. It has two answers. If I allow my feelings and emotions to come into it then its just major time screw you BC, i hate you forever. From a purely Canadian point of view though, it's screw you Quebec. If you're going to whine and complain then get the hell out, no one cares. Considering the West has to give our federal government money for you, you could be more thankful, like Nova Scotia and PEI.

And that's what I would say to Quebec/BC if they were people and could hear me. smile

Ditto. Being the only debt-free province makes you hate everybody else who takes your hard earned money, uses it, and complains.

Don't know why you hate BC, but I hate them for thinking they're so above everyone else. "Beautiful BC" on their license plate? Give me a break, beauty is subjective.

I agree. BC's new slogan, which is ridiculously pretentious, is 'the best place on Earth'.

........Ew. Just. Ew.

The sad thing about (all or at least most BC people I've met) is that they all believe these slogans. Whenever I discuss university with them, they're always like "UBC!!!!!!!!!!!!" and when I ask why, they just say, "because it's OBVIOUSLY THE BEST." Uh? Hello? What happened to the higher ranking schools in Ontario?

British Columbia is beautiful.

Match me beautiful mountains like Whistler, Grouse Mountain, Cypress...? Do you guys have access to the warm pacific ocean...?

We're like California... but Canadian version.

Though I have to admit getting paid like 21 dollars an hour at Mcdonalds in Alberta does have its ups.

YOU ARE RIGHT. LICENSE PLATES SHOULD HAVE MOTTOS THAT ARE OBJECTIVE SUCH AS: "BC - 15TH LARGEST METROPOLITAN REGION IN CANADA" OR "BC - POPULATION APPROXIMATELY 4 113 487 ACCORDING TO THE 2006 CENSUS"

That's what I like to see. People getting the hate on towards that stupid, mooching, BC. "The best place on Earth"? In my opinion it rates a couple spaces above Afghanistan and a few below Communist Korea.

Lamoid, i've decided i love you. You are absolutely my favorite forum troll. Way better than Nasir.

I think we should sink your stupid province and then Alberta can have access to the pacific ocean to assist in shipping things.

The thing is Canada needs us.

I don't know if you remember but in history I remember reading the mayor of BC durring the time when BC was sitting on the fence between Canada and US died mysteriously. No history book recorded his death in details and just mentioned it was mysterious but history books did record the fact that the mayor was choosing to join the USA for better trading monopoly but as soon as this "death" happened B.C. went in the opposite direction and joined Canada when the new mayor appointed after the death was British.

I still find that piece of history unresolved as the outcome may have been important!

A bunch of communist hippies you are. Haha.

Although I do dislike Quebec more. Mostly just seperatists. Something like 75% of the population in Quebec thinks their province makes money. When really they just eat all the money everybody else makes. Maybe if they knew how economically hopeless they would be without Canada they wouldn't want to leave.

Yet in the 1980 referendum I think that is the year wasn't it like a little more than half of quebec chose not to separate?

28 years ago. It's certainly possible that they are quite misinformed right now about what their situation would be if they did indeed separate.

I think we should seperate quebec, use the money spent on them and purchase Alaska from USA. Now I know its expensive, but by doing this we will achieve more of a sucesful economy. Just imagine gas prices lowering!

Alright. It seems like we've got a plan in order. Quebec separates and we get money from that. Then we sink BC and buy Alaska.

YES! Economic prosperity is almost a guarantee with that plan. smile

I'm pretty sure the forestry industry in general isn't doing too well and has more lumber than they know what to do with.
