Who is paying for your tuition? You/scholarships/loans/your parents?

All of the above. A little bit from everything = a lot of money.

But mostly from parents much of my loans/scholarships can be used towards tuition only, so the remainder of res and etc is thanks to my caring mom and dad.

How much have you guys been calculating you'll make for summer jobs? I'm guesstimating $5000 for the whole summer, which will pay off any tuition loans each year.

Everybody keeps talking about OSAP; but as I am currently in Alberta, I don't qualify, correct?

Each province has their own student loan program. OSAP is the one for Ontario. If you are from Alberta but going to Ontario for school, you'd apply for the Alberta loans.

Hella easy (plus I pwn interviews, thank god). Just got a job for $11/hr @ Sephora (which I love) in addition I have a weekend job designing and painting murals (which should pay about....1800 in all). I'm saying $5000 from:

Full Time (40hrs) x 12 Weeks (3 months @ 4 weeks per month) x $11/hr = $5280

I'm sure for a current university student you can find jobs with higher pay (at least in Calgary).

Calgary also has the most expensive rent in North America next to New York. *sigh*

On average, what is the wage per hour for a retail job? I know Sephora actually pays more than average so I got really really really lucky (such a great work environment too). My friends all tell me their average wage is $9-$10 for a mall job.

My parents are paying for my room and board through university, but they said aside from what they've put into my RESP i'm on my own otherwise

first year is going to be just about all scholarships (yay for $6000 tuition fees!), then my RESP buys me a car, a computer, and my second year of school, and then i'll have about 20 grand in the bank from various jobs that should last me the last 3 years in addition to the money i make during the summer from uni.

For a summer job I will be working between 3 & 4 days a week (7.5 hour days) and will be making between $18.23 and $19.23/hour

(I have been working 4 weeks so far)

Overall, about $6500 (with taxes, CPP & EI knocked off)

Osap has been paying my entire way through school since I started.

My parents forked out the first attempt, but when I dropped out of that program- that was it. I was on my own.

That's life.

First Year = Entrance Scholarships - Bursary - OSAP - Parents - Savings - Line of Credit (I probably won't need this)
Second Year = School Scholarships - Bursary - OSAP - Parents - Savings - Line of Credit

And it's all the same until I'm done.

Success is not the key to happiness, happiness is the key to success. If you love what you do in life, you will be a success!!
