Oh man that sucks. What specifically don't you like about New Rez?
Man, reading the group and people who got like RVC and it was their 14/15th choice is seriously crappy. I dunno, it's stupid that they would make RVC as big as it is considering that most girls would prefer a co-ed rez.

lol yeah newmarketsucksyo got rvc. and it was her last choice. new rez... i dunno. I can't really get used to it. I"m not sure if I should wait it out and see if I like it (if I cancel then I pay up like $1500).. or just cancel now and find a house nearby. Ahhh My friends all got douglas single. Ughhh.

OK, so what pool was everyone assigned?
Before the assignments were posted, when you clicked on Housing, it said something like this "Pool: x student x"
For me it was Ontario Student 1. Would this have any bearing on what number you were assigned? Maybe like 1-100 were assigned to students in the first pools, then 100-300 to students in the 2nd pool. I dunno, just typing out loud here.
edit: well, you have until sept 15th to see if you like if you decide to live there. then you can apply for a transfer or switch with someone or something. What sucks about New Rez is that it's just by itself. But it's seriously nice and you have all kinds of extra ammenities and there are like 700 students in one building.

I got my third choice -- McConnell Single
I was really hoping for either my 1st or 2nd though -- douglas single or double
Well, I really wanted Douglas, but we'll see what happens.
I was Ontario Pool 2 btw.

Yeah it would suck to get Solin.
I was in Pool 2 and got my 1st Choice. New Res has so many students, think about it, your not exactly secluded from everything thats going on when there are 700+ students in the same boat

The pool thing only affected you if you were a scholarship winner. (in which case you get first choice automatically) Didn't have much to do with housing. I heard people at Solin are pretty chill. I think I'm gonna try out new rez. It's such an ugly building haha.

Hey, guys.
I just came to post that I got my 5th choice: MORE double room. I can't find any information on my particular residence though, which makes me think it's the new MORE house McGill just bought. Here's to hoping I have a cool room-mate. Ha ha.

If you win a scholarship you get into the scholarship pool meaning you get your first choice.

Yeah. I'm trying to be happyish cause I think it'd be better than living bymyself in some downtown apt.. which my parents are willing to find with me and stuff. But I have 3 people going to McGill from my school and they all got into Douglas single. lmao. And I like. told them to pick that first. Oh well private bathrooms. Great food. Grand piano. Closet to St. Laurent. No Hill. Close amenities. only 10 min away from campus. yes. . . room mate. ahhhhh. :S I'm not prepared for a roommate!!
