Let me guess... You're under the 4 years time frame and still considered stuck to the 'rents or you make too much money otherwise!

Sorry, I'm not part of the club but I have a nice debt building from College attempt #1, College graduate #2, and University happenin....

Oh it's not that I'm pissed, more like amused.
I've had quite a few laughs over OSAP
Apparently Queen's is considered a commuter school from the GTA
(even though its over 200 km away) (my friend's mother called them up and that's what they told her)
so they won't give like 3 of my friends any money

I am pretty sure it is not considered a commuter school from the GTA. (Too lazy to find the confused emoticon)

isn't a commuter school supposed to be within like a 50 km radius? whatever it is gta --> kingston is definitely not a commute

Don't post ridiculous things on a public board. I live about 52kms from Queens and it is not a commuter school for me in OSAP's view.

I'm already about 30 grand, and I'm just starting my University degree! Then I have teacher's college!

I wish I was smart enough to be a doctor! because I'll need the $$ to pay off my debt!

Seriously! Amen.
I don't know about a masters, but I might have to do one. Hopefully there will be more money to take from the government by then.

oh I'm sure there will be!

I always get the "why are you taking the long way?"

RIIIIGHT..... like dropping out of graphic design at 20 (5 grand gone) going back to school "because this is what i REALLY want to do and i know now!" at 24 to take Child and Youth Work (at least I paid for my first year?) only to realise "Hey! I like being a Teacher's Assistant! but I can teach!" puts me in school, and A LOT MORE DEBT! until I'm in my early 30's. (God I'm old!)

Ya...... Why couldn't be a doctor and make it worth it? I'll be taking that OSAP debt to my GRAVE!!!!

Kids, figure it out. You really don't have "tons of time". At least I'm 4'11 and look 21 smile

and GOD HELP ME IF I DON'T BECOME A TEACHER! My "fall back" is getting that French degree. Government Job! $$$$

I haven't gotten any response back from OSAP yet, regarding how much I will receive. It is nearing the end of June, is this normal?

Success is not the key to happiness, happiness is the key to success. If you love what you do in life, you will be a success!!

No no, that's definately what OSAP decided in my friend's case. Mind you, as I said in my post, this was over the phone and not in an official document.
I've driven to Queen's and, trust me, it's not a commuter school.

Actually your master's degree should be pretty much free, don't go if they won't fund you.
