O.K, so essentially my question is this: After planning an initial schedule, I noticed that quite a few of my classes are 10 minutes apart, should I avoid this?
note: In two cases I can choose between classes being an hour and a half apart or ten minutes. I'm concerned about wasting time between classes, but also don't want to be crazily sprinting around campus. Advice?

Depends what school you go to, but 10 minutes should be plenty of time. Rolling in a minute or two late isn't a big deal either.

Yeah don't worry its not that bad on the Mac campus. Even distances that seem pretty far aren't that bad. Which course are you looking at and where are the two distances you'll be travelling from and to? Also what times?

Let's see, there are quite a few instances...
9:30-10:20 calculus [1D06](HH) <---for convenience, I'm listing shortened names of buildings, hope you don't mind
10:30-11:20 chemistry[1A03](BSB) first term only

10:30-11:20 calculus[1D06](HH)
11:30-12:20 writing & informal logic [1B06](PC)

8:30-9:20 chemistry[1AA3](BSB)second term only
9:30-10:20 calculus [1D06](HH)

2:30-4:20 inquiry[1C06] (CNH)
4:30-5:20 western civ.[1A06] (HH)

I'm limited in my time table planning because of the nature of artsci (i.e. small program= only one class time available). As well, I want my chem classes to be earlier in the day.

BTW, I'm looking at core components only, could you explain if/how you select tutorial or lab components?

Having some classes back to back is a good thing. You really don't want to have hour or hour and a half breaks between each and every class (however I prefer to keep it to no more than about 3 hours without a break).

On larger campuses there may be some options that don't really work based on travel time between classes. At Ottawa, for example, you can make it about halfway across the campus (north/south) in 10 minutes.

Remember that it often takes just as long to do a search or two on Google to try and find the answer to your question as it takes to type it in a post here, let alone the time waiting for a reply.
If your question is "What mark does it take to get into University X", or "What are the requirements to get into University X", it's on their website and/or electronicinfo.ca (for Ontario schools). Particularly for Ontario schools, those ranges are a pretty good picture of what kind of mark will get you into the program, and if you're more than a couple percent higher it's practically guaranteed unless it requires a supplementary form.

Yeah you'll be fine in terms of travel time. BSB, HH, CNH, and the PC are fairly close, you'll be able to make it no problem. However, once you add in your labs and tutorials it'll be completely different in terms of gaps between classes.

When you look at the timetable (which has been crashing like 6x a day unfortunately lol) you'll see lists of tutorials and lab times which are different from the core time (e.g. C01). I'm not quite sure how it works for artsci but you should have some tutorials (labs for chem for sure). Lab are looong (like 3 hours) but are usually every other week.

The lab and tutorial times for your classes should be listed on the timetable and when you go on SOLAR its really easy to pick them. There is a drop down menu once you pick a class that allows you to pick which lab or tutorial you want that goes with the class.

Once you see SOLAR its really easy to figure out, don't worry big grin Also ask some artscis on facebook about it, or check out macinsiders.com, there are tons of articles on course selection.

Also, HH is the best I must say big grin
