What are some external scholarships you can apply to if you are already a university student?

There a lot for students in their last year of highschool, but once you aren't eligible for those anymore, does studentawards.com list scholarships for you accordingly?

I know of the millenium excellence in-course awards and that's about it.

some universities offer their own course awards---like if you perform at the top of your class they give you a sort of financial reward (but not all universities do, and not all universities do for every program). As for external scholarships (which is what i think you were referring to) there are fewer of those and they're more specific to a certain field or type of person usually. i know zonta in my region does a women in leadership or something like that award where they give it to a university student in business or political science or something like that. there are also some that are specifically targeted at women in math or engineering as well and are offered by organizations (of women in science and engineering maybe?). I'd assume that studentawards lists the scholarships you'd be eligible for as a university student, but maybe someone who is on here who is already in university (kaylya, stringer, ooosh, eddiehosa, etc.) would answer better?

oh and for the millennium excellence in course awards i think that's only for people who had not received scholarship money more than 5000 dollars in the past though so i don't think millennium laureates would be eligible for it if they won at provincial or national level

I got some money from Acadia, although not huge amounts ($1300-$2000); those were through different endowment scholarships at the university, where someone donated to set up a scholarship; those didn't require an application although there were some bigger ones that did. And there are definitely external awards to apply for, often through professional organizations or companies relating to your program.

Remember that it often takes just as long to do a search or two on Google to try and find the answer to your question as it takes to type it in a post here, let alone the time waiting for a reply.
If your question is "What mark does it take to get into University X", or "What are the requirements to get into University X", it's on their website and/or electronicinfo.ca (for Ontario schools). Particularly for Ontario schools, those ranges are a pretty good picture of what kind of mark will get you into the program, and if you're more than a couple percent higher it's practically guaranteed unless it requires a supplementary form.

Hi tmhlee

As long as you update your profile accordingly once you are a university student, the studentawards.com website will match you with awards that you are eligible for. Therefore, if you are a university undergrad, you will be matched with awards for undergrads. There are also some awards which are aimed at specific years of undergrad (ie: 2nd year or higher, final year, etc...).
One example of these awards is the RBC Royal Bank Scholarship for Undergraduates. Consider applying for it next year, there is a thread in the forum about it.

Good luck!

I just finished my first year and am applying for scholarships for year 2, and I found there were just as many in-course awards as there were for when I was entering university. My university (U of A) offers many, and I found a lot on studentawards and other places. They will usually specifically relate to the field of study that you have chosen. I found many for engineering.

There is one at Western for students in the Scholar's Electives or Western Scholar's programs if you didn't receive a renewable award in your first year.
