From the first year handbook:

Quote:
Undergraduate Degree Offered:
Honours Bachelor of Arts (BA): 4-year

Not really sure what HBA stands for in Ivey (can they be MORE secretive about the acronym?), but I have a sneaking suspicion it may just mean Honors Bachelor of Arts. Or maybe Honors Business Administration. But what I've seen, that acronym would probably be HBBA (as in Hons Bachelor of Busi. Admin.) since BBA is what people usually shorten for that. We've had arguments on this forum about whether or not the graduating title matters and if that makes Ivey inferior.......

Don't feel so elitist... There are many programs that are extremely specialized and "tailored" to a small selection of students, but that doesn't mean none of these people graduate from Western itself and therefore don't need to meet graduation requirements.

How hard is it to get category fulfillments anyways? I have 2.0 in A, 2.0 in B, and 1.0 in C. Besides, the requirements is for at least 1.0 from two of the three categories, so if you don't like B then just do A and C.

Actually, I'm pretty sure for the Breadth requirement you need to cover 1.0 credits in all THREE categories. When I had my SAO and the lady saw what subjects I'd taken she commented that I was leaving myself alot of options for what major I want to pursue as well as satisfying a graduation requirement by having 2.0 A, 2.0 B and 1.0 C courses.

In anyway how was I elitist?

I just said the truth, the Ivey program is like you said in quotes "tailored" to us, as you stated. You just tried to change what I said.

"but that doesn't mean none of these people graduate from Western itself and therefore don't need to meet graduation requirements."
We are in a different program all together. For your information, different does not necessarily mean I am thinking higher of myself.
We take different (not elitist, unless that is how you fee, which infact is not a bad thing since you are doing business) courses than everyone else, so to graduate, we obviously have different requirements than everyone else.

Richard Ivey is a second-level entry/professional program. The courses we take in HBA1 and HBA2 are not weighted the same as the courses taken at Western. With common sense, and knowing the fact that the courses we take are planned and/or tailored for us, we are a different (again not elitist) and separate program from that of Western's other faculties, and therefore ... screw it, draw your own conclusions.

Why am I even going to argue with you? you obviously are the one who thinks they are elite right now, no one I will be able to change your mind.

Does anyone know when we'll be able to know how much tuition is??? I already enrolled in my courses? Is that the same as registering?

To answer futuremillionaire's question, the tuition numbers seem to be out already. If you have the SAO handbook, look on page 19. If you don't physically have it, here's the link to the tuition amounts and when they're due:

anyone know if you can delay fees if osap doesn't process the application on time?

Apparantly, if you plan on deferring your tuition payments to OSAP, and it doesn't come before the deadline for payment is due, then you have to pay the money your own way, and then you make back the money when your check comes. That's what they told my dad when he went to pay some of the tuition at my SAO.

Oh my god, I can't believe we are having this uncivilized argument about whether or not Ivey graduates with a BA! It's been done before!

http://forums.studentawards.com/yaf_postst2940_IVEY--Bachelor-of-Arts-in-Honours-Business-Administration-What.aspx

You get a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Business Administration and it really really really doesn't matter.

By the way, to the thing about category requirements:

Quote:
Registrants in the first year general program must select:
At least 1.0 course must be selected from each of two of Categories A, B, and C.

However...

Quote:
Before Graduation, at least 1.0 from each of Categories A, B, and C must be taken.

What can I say, the hardcore Schulichs never see the light.

Actually, I don't know anybody who is going to Schulich, much less York... I have to say that out here in the West, we don't think very highly of York. Everybody I know who is going East is going for Queens, UWO, UTSG, or UW.

Easy now.... some of my friends are going to York and it is very disrespectful to them because they didn't get into one of your "higher" unis.
