The exams in the no experience required course are much easier than the experience req one? or are they the same but just the extra tutorials help students catch up?

I've read that they spend some time going through the basic concepts (from high school) but exams are similar in difficulty maybe even identical..

Well I could use some suggestions now.. Having problem selecting a course from Category B that can also fulfill 0.5/1.0 Essay requirement ( http://www.westerncalendar.uwo.ca/2008/pg101.html) Classical Studies, Comparative Literature and Culture, Philosophy(maybe PHIL1130-Big Ideas), Visual Arts History (or vahist 1052-Art and popular culture), English (eeek!) anyone kindly share info on these?

If you decided to take PHYS 1028A, then you would also sign up for 1029B. A is first semester and B is second. 1028 is the prerequisite for 1029 and together you get the full physics credit. When you pick your lab/tutorial for these two you have to pick the same lab section for both courses. For CALC I signed up for 1000A and 1301B. That gives you the full math credit. I thought about 1201 but I'd rather do CALC than data management and it looks like that's what 1201 is.

If you look on the calender, the courses that have an 'E' after the number means it is an essay course.
To graduate, you must have atleast 2.0 essay or 'E' courses, and at least 1.0 of which must be at the senior level (numbered 2000-4999).
It is RECOMMENDED that you have an 1.0 essay course in your first year, however, it is absolutely not necessary.

The recommended 1.0 in first year is so that you can have easier essay courses instead of having 2.0 senior courses XD Anybody know how tough it is to have two essay courses at the same time? That's what happening to me (+ Art History supposedly has a lot of essays even though it's not suppose to) and I'm worried about work load. UWO 2012

It honestly can't be that bad, because people do it all the time in many programs such as English, French, Philosophy...

How is being Ivey make you any different from other students in terms of graduation requirements? Just take a philosophy course in first year and you're done.

Who in the world says that you don't graduate from Western itself...? We get a BA from Western in Ivey just like everybody else.
