Alright guys, so I'm headed to Western for BMOS in the fall.

Apparently I'm suppsosed to have received a grey (I think) book that has a list of all the courses offered, and the times that they are held.
I haven't yet received this, unless it's really just the Western 2008 First year Calendar.. which doesn't have course times prof names, etc.

I only accepted my offer on the 27th or so of May.
Would they only send me this book once I've accepted... and is it likely that it's in the mail or should I call and ask for one.

I accepted my offer after I received my welcome package for first year, which does not include the complete academic calendar. However, additional information is suppose to come in late July... I don't know if they will give us our own academic calendars in the 2nd package (but they are not grey, they are purple, says mirielleva) but I do know that they will give us more stuff to help us with our course selection and registration.

What date did you sign up for to do your registration? I wouldn't worry about UWO sending us things until nearer to that date.

My SAO is in two weeks, and I haven't heard anything at all from them. I'm just going with the resources and information I got right now. Hopefully everything works out well for all of us.

They way they talk about the second package implies that many people do not get it until after they finish course registration. I think though, since the complete academic calendar is online, there should be no big problems.

Alright when I called I was informed that this so called grey book was being sent out about now.
So, we shouldn't have received it yet.

Fantastic, however I'm totally surprised that it's grey. What happened to UWO purple pride? =P

If they are the books I'm thinking of (and the design has stayed the same as last year) they are mainly grey with purple as well, so there you go.

Plus, coupons galore! I got ten dollars off my tattoo! yay. haha.

Maybe they didn't want to appear too Vegas showgirlly so they stuck with the more stuffy grey XD.

And carkey, tattoo coupon?? That's wild. What other unexpected coupons do they give?

A bunch of restaurant deals...I remember a ton of free tans as well. We were so gung-ho on using them all at the beginning I remember. We did use a good amount of them though. Coupons are always fun. big grin

Are you guys aware that the calendar is online?

Now that I actually found the old thing, it IS a purple cover. haha.

I tried logging in and picking courses but it says

"You do not have access to enrollment at this time."

Why is that?

I believe you can register for classes starting next Monday (June 16). That is when all the SAO stuff starts.

I've got a question: are we allowed to have a class right after another? Say I have psychology from 12 to 1 PM and plan on taking Rocket Science 101 which starts at 1. Would that be allowed? I heard that classes actually end sooner than they say they do.

...wow.. Are you seriously taking a course called rocket science?
You'll be able to figure EVERYTHING out. Cause it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure things out. BUT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE ONE! big grin

AH HA! I knew the numbering was sketchy; a real pro con artist would have called it 1001.

Ok all jokes aside, I'm pretty sure nobody really cares when you take each class and how spaced out each of them are. Classes end 10 min sooner than posted times, so see if you really need more spacing between classes based on personal preference.

hahaha...
from what I see...I think you can take courses right after the other
however, GETTING to the class might be a problem, unless they're in the same building?

So far, All my classes are spaced out, except for chem and phy, which are both in NCB...so it shouldn't be TOO much of a problem. Because, otherwise, I can't fit all my courses in. Hopefully it will work out. =D

Also, for the student card, do you HAVE to upload a photo? or can we not upload anything, and then go there on the day of SAO and take one + get card later?
