Okay, so I was in some discussion thing on facebook for Wilfrid Laurier University (The school I'm going to) Anyways, a person in the discussion posted this, and I would like to see if any of you are getting the same problem. Because I am too.
Log into your OSAP application, and click on the "Queen Elizabeth Aiming for the Top Scholarship" Please see what it says.
Mine currently says
"You will not be considered for this scholarship because a) you indicated on your OSAP application that you did not attend an Ontario high school in 2007, b) your institution is not eligible, and/or c) you applied after the application deadline date."
First of all, it maybe screwed up, because their computers may still be thinking 2007, when the actual application asks, 'Did you attend an Ontario high school in 2008?'
My institution is eligible, as I have searched it several times.
And the application deadline date for the Aiming for the top scholarship, is June 20th. I applied a week after the OSAP apps came out, well before the deadline date.
Anyone having this same problem?

I won't be eligile for this, but it still comes up under queen's university and it says the same thing: You will not be considered for this scholarship because a) you indicated on your OSAP application that you did not attend an Ontario high school in 2007, b) your institution is not eligible, and/or c) you applied after the application deadline date. I think this page just got up online, so you might have to wait it out?

You DID attend high school in 2007 AND 2008, if you are graduating this year.

Yeah, maybe. I guess if everyone that has checked it has this message there has to be something wrong.

On the actual application it only asks if you attended a high school in 2008. There's no part in the application where it asks about 2007. It seems like they should assume, if I attended high school in 2008 then I attended in 2007. But if there are no application questiosn about 2007, then why does that determine if i get money from the scholarship or not. I would think they would be concerned with 2008.

What school are you going to next year? There's probably not much guidance counsellors can do. The only way to get any information or ask questions regarding OSAP, is to contact the financial aid office at your university. You can't even contact a represetative for OSAP directly. How is the university going to know if OSAP is having technical issues?

Quote:Processing of this scholarship for the 2008-2009 academic year will take place in early August 2008. Please check back later.
You may be considered for this scholarship if you: attended an Ontario high school in 2008 and achieve academic excellence; are an Ontario resident (as defined by OSAP); apply to attend an Ontario university through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre, or a college of applied arts and technology through the Ontario College Application Service, or apply to attend another Ontario postsecondary institution (e.g., a private career college) that is approved for purposes of this scholarship; and will be a full-time postsecondary student in the 2008-2009 academic year at an institution approved for student loan purposes.
Note: if you applied using the OSAP online application and you were eligible for this scholarship you would have been presented with the "Other Scholarships" tab where you would have indicated if you wished to be considered for this scholarship. Go to "View Summary" on the Online Services page for a copy of the information that you provided on your application. If you were NOT eligible for this scholarship, when you applied online you would not have gotten the "Other Scholarships" tab with information concerning this scholarship. For details about this program go to About this section.
^^ That's what I get at the A4T Status Page when logging into OSAP then clicking Queen Elizabeth II Aiming for the Top Scholarship
