i agree about the prices of all the school clothing but... are they irresistable or what! lol.. it's always nice to be able to show off your school and show your pride. Although it will surely break my bank, I will definately be getting some sort of clothing from my school.

I don't know what you guys are complaining about, t-shirts are $10 - $20 (sometimes $5 on secret sale days), hoodies $30 - $40. The Rugby shirts are the most expensive really.

yeah, i have to say that school clothing is around the same as AE or other brandname clothing stores... although those stores are also expensive the school is also trying to make a profit

I know at York the clothing is hugely over priced, and its not like the shirts are made out of silk here!! Students are just getting ripped off everywhere they turn, and you would think that since we are wearing items with their names on them Universities would sell the items for a more affordable price. But then again you would think that since the government want more peopel to attend post secondary they would make it more affordable too. Do people really think students can afford all of this?! I go to school every day, I can only work on the weekends and I get paid minimum wage! The little income that I do have wont be spent on York gear I can tell you that much!

Last night I was on Western's online book store and I purchased a hoodie and a t-shirt.... okay okay, I know it's early.... but i'm just soooo excited! lol
It wasn't that expensive either, it came to like $57 and that included the cost of shipping.
So yes, I'm all for school spirit!!

It's prolly so high because we pay for it.

If there was a ban on the store... that the students had going.
The prices would prolly lower.
But, that would be hard to organize so.
The organization wins and the students gaze longingly into the window at the hundred dollar hoodie.

While I don't want to argue that the sweatshirts are very economically priced, do consider that it costs more per unit to produce an order of 100 or 1000 of something than it does to produce an order of 10,000 or 100,000 or what not. And few schools if any are in a position to be ordering 10,000 of a particular sweatshirt (*maybe* the biggest schools for their most popular design if they order enough stock for a year or two?). Also, the stores that sell them usually aren't overly high volume, so their overhead is a lot higher than WalMart.

That being said, the student union run store at Acadia would occaisonally have sales with really deep discounts which was when I bought most stuff ;)

I haven't yet purchased any school gear; however, I am looking forward to doing so in May.
