Hey everyone I hope some people give this thread a read and can assist in any way.

I'm attending York University at the moment and I've enrolled in summer school and am a resident student. I applied for OSAP somewhat late because summer school was a last second decision. I applied around May 4-5, and it got processed and issued out on the 13th of May. I got a letter sent home saying I would be receiving :

$3,424 for educational costs
$1,521 for Non-educational costs.
and a $500 Ontario access grant

That's $4945 in total.

I'm enrolled in 3 courses making it a 60%/full time course load.

Here's where things get confusing/stressful:

1 of my courses started at the beginning of May so I got a spot in summer residence for it and began class. The class was really tough and I got off on a very bad start so in fear of doing bad I dropped the course and decided to take it this fall. I ended up enrolling in another course which is only a month long starting in June 2 until the end of June. It's a 5 day a week 3 hour course. So I'm STILL at a 60% course load.

I've yet to receive my OSAP loans from my school so I'm waiting on that. However, i logged onto OSAP and noticed that my funds have been recalculated! I'm now receiving

$2962 for educational costs
$500 Ontario access grant.

That's $3500 roughly.

That's a $1400 dollar difference right there! I'm honestly panicking right now, because they completely cut off my residence fees for May which I still have to pay.

My student account says I have to pay $2500. I'm left with $1000 for the months of June/July to pay for $500 dollar rent monthly, groceries, personal expenses, etc etc. How could OSAP not take these things into consideration. This is JUST not enough. Obviously I'm going to have to work, but the course i'm taking for all of June is quiet demanding seeing how it's 5 days a week and theres a midterm every 2 weeks that is worth 50%.

I was just wondering what i can do at this point to notify OSAP that the funding is not enough. Any help would be appreciated

Technically you can't recieve osap during the summer unless you're taking a 60% course load, so consider yourself lucky that they're giving any money.

Good thing I do have a 60% course load. Wow..

Also, I don't appreciate the sarcasm in this thread. Wow this site is pointless, moderators lock , if there even are moderators on this site..
