Wasn't there a question about your parents education? There's actually a law that if your parents are educated to a certain level (masters and above i THINK), they are legally forced to (if they have the resources) put you through your education to some level as well. Maybe they only take this into account as the be all and end all for your app. if this criteria is fulfilled?

This is the first I've heard of such a law, which leads me to believe it doesn't exist.

Now, if your parents are divorced and there's child support, that becomes a different story, because I guess you are still considered a dependent and thus eligible for child support.

E.g. BC
How long is child support paid for?
Child support is paid for as long as the child continues to fall within the legal definition of a “child.” In BC, a child is someone under the age of 19, or who is 19 or over but dependent on a parent. For example, a university student or someone with health problems requiring financial support may remain a child, even though they’re 19 or over.

Remember that it often takes just as long to do a search or two on Google to try and find the answer to your question as it takes to type it in a post here, let alone the time waiting for a reply.
If your question is "What mark does it take to get into University X", or "What are the requirements to get into University X", it's on their website and/or electronicinfo.ca (for Ontario schools). Particularly for Ontario schools, those ranges are a pretty good picture of what kind of mark will get you into the program, and if you're more than a couple percent higher it's practically guaranteed unless it requires a supplementary form.

Why did you bother Josh? My dad is on disability, my mom does works less than full time hours, there are 6 kids in my family and I know I would not get a cent.

I know something along these lines exists. Maybe I did hear it in relation to divorce.
