I don't really know anything about B- Schools outside of Ontario so... I will just talk about Ontario schools. In Canada generally speaking, Queen's Schulich Ivey are the top B-Schools. The three does not give you co-op (you can still get interships and sumemr jobs etc.) If you want co-op look into: Waterloo Laurier UTSC - Waterloo is only good for accounting, if you are sure that accounting is what you want to persue then go for it. Even my accounting teacher said that he does not reccommend that because you do not really know what you want to specialize right out of high school. There is math and accounting which is reaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllly competitve. And Arts and Accounting which is fairly competitive. - Laurier's BBA program is supposed to be really good. Cut off is I belive 86% and if your average is lower than 86% , there is a chance you can get in if you write some essays and stuff. - UTSC is supposed to be pretty good too. -Brock has good accounting program but... you'll @ Brock in the falls. I definetly reccomend Schulich or Ivey or Queen's I HEAR Ivey and Queen's grads have more job oppurtunities than Schuilch grads (generally speaking) -UTSG changed its name to Rotman Commerce and it is supposed to be getting really good so look that into that as well (I mean UofT is the best Univ. in Canada  ) This fall I will be attending Schulich and I spent lots of time figuring the which univ. to choose. I got into all the programs that I applied to and I chose Schulich for iBBA If you want to do internation business Schuilch iBBA should definetly be one of your top choices If I were you I would go to one of the three tops schools. You need 90 + average and good extra. curric. to get in.

I'd say go Ivey. It's an extremely renowned school for Business here in Canada (or at least emphatically more in the central core.) Queen's also a good school, but they didn't offer you an admission so oh well.
But be careful, some employers in HK may not have heard of these schools (besides UBC or UT, etc.), so they may think it's a "wild chicken" university. Ivey generally has the reputation for the best business school in Canada, but that may or may not transfer over to HK. Make sure you can foot the bill also. Not sure how much it'll cost, but be sure to plan out your financial future to complement the academic quality and also prestigious reputation for your program at your university of choice.

Yes, you got the main problem. UT is really famous in Hong Kong, but the commerce program isn't as good as Ivey's one.... Well...really hard to choose.

Being one of the few people who have probably even heard of it, unless you plan on living and working in Lethbridge, don't go to the U of L. Absolutely no reputation outside of Southern Alberta.

UT really does have the better Asian reputation (when I told my relatives I was going to UWO I got a lot of "...what??") so if I were you I would choose to go there, that way I can have more options in my future of whether I can work in Canada or HK. Ivey really is great tho, so think about what you value more.

I am in UTM Commerce and I say go with Ivey- If you're coming to UTM commerce just to transfer to St. George, it wouldn't make that much sense- you've already had to transfer once, why do it again? Plus UTM Commerce and UTSG Commerce are no longer identical, so it would be a PAIN to transfer- Basically the miss and scarborough campuses are becoming separate entities (i.e. they have a little more say on what happens on their location) so internal transfers are a little more difficult to get- Ivey isn't even that much more expensive than UTM Commerce, which is 10,000 a year for 3 years (5,000) first, and its a lot higher for an international student (and this is tuition only)- Western is 5K, 5K, 18K, 18K so theres not that much of a difference- UTM's a good program if you want to do your CA, but you'll have more options Ivey

Is it no longer identical? they only added one or two new subjects which are a combination of old ones right? Is it that difficult to transfer even if you meet the GPA? crap, I was thinking about going there...

Ye it is, because they 'say' that there is no GPA cutoff or anything- thye just look at it on a case-by-case basis (I didn't apply btw, they didn't accept any trasnfers this year, but I heard it will change next year)- Don't worry UTM Commerce is fine- less stressful, similar recruiting

go with the university of western ontario! that is where you want to go for business. Ivey is an incredible school, but it is incredibly competitive and requires a lot of hard work! it is difficult, but if that's what you want to do, then that is where you want to be. it's probably the second best place to go for business.

well yeah, ivey is different from just business. but i'm just going with the assumption that business will lead to ivey. usually, uwo business is like ivey prep. i say second best, because of Yorks business school, Schulich - it's one of the top 10 in the world.

Which particular ranking puts schulich higher than Ivey/Queen's?
Businessweek and the financial times don't.

OKay Well Waterloo is the best for co-op. Western is well known for Business, and has amazing community. And Mcmaster is also good cuz its a small university

Hey everyone! I really have no idea which university to go to. I want to have a career in English (editor, publisher, writer, teacher), and want to go to a University in southern Ontario. Any suggestions or advice? I've done a lot of research but nothing seems to be jumping out at me. Thanks!!!!
