It's no big deal. If you're consistently late in a small class your prof will likely be mad at you but just try to be on time. I have never once seem somebody called out for being late.

I don't think anyone has mentioned - some people have very good reasons for being habitually late. A class immediately before in a different building, either particularly far away or where the prof always stops late, being one. Now, that covers being habitually just barely on time to within 5-10 minutes late (depending on the size of campus I suppose). The people who consistently walk into class 30 minutes late I just don't get, and I've seen that a couple times. I suppose it's not uncommon for me to be within 5 minutes late. There's maybe been a couple times where I slept in for an 8:30 class and could have gotten there but like 20+ minutes late of a 50 minute class and didn't bother.
Remember that it often takes just as long to do a search or two on Google to try and find the answer to your question as it takes to type it in a post here, let alone the time waiting for a reply. If your question is "What mark does it take to get into University X", or "What are the requirements to get into University X", it's on their website and/or electronicinfo.ca (for Ontario schools). Particularly for Ontario schools, those ranges are a pretty good picture of what kind of mark will get you into the program, and if you're more than a couple percent higher it's practically guaranteed unless it requires a supplementary form.

Being the last person to walk into a class says a lot about your time management and it is very embarresssing and it says more about the things that are important to you depending on what time you arrive, if you arrive like two hours in , its ridiculous and you have not showed up because it seems as if you really could care less , you are there for attendance and that is annoying to your teacher and the rest of the class because the teacher has to now update you on somewhat of what they were speaking about by probably going ove rthe last things he said one more time and then the rest of the class has been disrupted after finally settling in and realizing they have to be there for the next few hours and you just walked in late and got to leave at the same time as them , it may leave some lastingly distracted while others just initiate a negative opinion of you because of your tardiness, and complete lack of regard for your education while others try to better themself, you are slacking off. i thinnk it's embaressing but i would still go in because it's better to touch on the rest of the subject directly from the teacher rather then by catching up the next day .

the way i look at it is, if your in a class with like 400 people and they laugh at you, who cares - they will never see you again lol

yeah, I used to not go to class if I got late. Then, I would have trouble understanding whatever they talked about, so I just started going. I guess it doesn't really matter. We are paying for our class, and even if we go to class late, we are at least there. Then, I think since i hated entering class late, i tried really hard to make it on time. It works!

I was such a keener in my first year -- I never missed class and always arrived on time. As I got closer to the end of my degree, I found myself running late more often and finishing work at the last minute. I think arriving late for class really depends on the class and the prof. If you're in a huge lecture hall and can enter from the back, I think it's okay to arrive or leave whenever you please -- after all , you're the one paying for it. The trouble begins when the classes get smaller, and if you have to walk in front of the class to get in (therefore disrupting class) it becomes less forgivable to walk in late.

I'm usually on time with the various things to do in my life...but sometimes it just can't be helped. Do you get in trouble when you're late for various classes?
