As a whole, Queen's is a MUCH better university than Guelph. Not sure about this specific program, just talking in general.

Guelph is still very good for certain programs, especially those biology related. So biomed at Guelph would most likely be a very good program.

guelph science, especially in the way of biology, is absolutely terrific. They've got excellent facilities and the university's focus is directed in that way so science students get lots of attention. You get smaller class sizes too.

Guelph just built a beautiful new science building that is definitely one of the best in the country. Construction for a new 70million dollar science building just began as well, so I think Guelph is moving up in the sciences..

Well, I don't know much about Guelph. But to be fair, I have friends there who love it, it is apparantly one of the better looking campuses, and it has GREAT food.
But I go to Queen's, so here is my take on it:
It's a BEAUTIFUL campus - all limestone and ivy, truely the traditional classical looking school. THat being said, a lot of buildings ARE old on the inside (though, to give them credit, they are massively renovating basically everything in sight now.) Right by Lake ONT too, had a lovely view of that my first year on res.
Academically - to be completely frank, it's not that bad. Yeah, it's a bit of a jump, but I was pretty lucky in the sense that my high school prepared me very well - most of the stuff I learnt was review from grade 12. And I came from a non-famous, low-ranking (according to that new school ranking list that came out, haha) public school. So odds are, you will be fine too. I'm definitely a procrasinator, but I do go through very effective cramming periods right before exams, and so I pulled out of first year with a fairly decent > 90 average. So yeah - work hard, and you'll be fine. Our class averages weren't bad, usually hovered in mid70s, so you can bet that if something IS hard, they WILL bellcurve it (at least, in my experience.)
Only bad thing I have to say about Queen's is that there is WAY too much construction doing on. We had basically two massive pits of...gravel and stuff taking up blocks. But at least this means that we will be getting something new soon right?
