Hey MB,
I have applied to transfer to the Health Sciences program as well. Just like you, I haven't heard anything from them. I did e-mail them a while ago, and they told me that admission decisions will be made towards the end of May (which I am assuming is this week). They did not say anything about when we actually find out about the status of our application. Are there any other transfer applicants on this forum?
The wait is killing me!

Hey MB,
*Fingers crossed*! Hope you get in too bro! Did you also apply to BHSc as a high school applicant? I did, and obviously I was unsuccessful. But yeah, chances of getting in as a transfer applicant (20 in 350) are just SLIGHTLY better than as a high school applicant (160 in 3200). So, its hard either way. By the way, what program are you in at Western?

Well, first year is general science for us at McMaster (I think that's how it is at Western for you as well, correct?). So, it really is a bit of everything that we learn about, which sucks because I found that some of the things that we learned was absolutely useless (like Ecology). But I guess the program wants to expose us to a wide variety of courses so that we have a better idea of what we can major/specialize in. But, if BHSc doesn't work out for me, I am planning on doing a major in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology. We don't really have any cool specializations like Microbiology and Immunology, which sucks big times because I would love to do a specialization in that. I should've have gone to Western though because I hear lots of good stuff about it (especially the Biomedical program). About BHSc though, did you receive ANY email from them? That's what I am most worried about... that I haven't heard from them at all (except of course when I emailed them). I've heard from some students that we will find out about the status of our applications in early June because we (McMaster students) still haven't had our final grades released. So, I'm thinking that the BHSc office is waiting for final grades to be released so that they can check if we have met the academic requirements, and THEN they will send out offers of admission. But, I am thinking that they must already have access to the grades, or else it would get too late because if we do get in, we have to select our courses for next year on June 24th (http://registrar.mcmaster.ca/registered/SOLAR%20200809%20entry%20schedule%20FINAL.pdf). So, I really don't know what is happening. I do hope that they are almost done with reviewing all applications though.

yea its general science here at western too. actually its not until like the 3rd year i think that we actually get into our specializations. I havent recieved ANYTHING from mac, but man dont worry about it they'll get to us soon. i called them once like 2 weeks ago and at that time she told me it would be about 2 weeks for admission decisions to be made. So im expecting something anyday now

Okay, so I am guessing that we will find out on Friday (May 30th) because that's when our (McMaster students) final grades are released.

Ah, oh well... we've waited over a month already. 10 days should be nothing (hopefully)!

Heyy Did your transcript show anything tho? Right under the marks they discuss eligiblity....and im wondering if that is the acceptance or just a way of saying that our marks are good enough. The suspense is killing me hehe

Hey, my transcript reads like this:
REGISTRATION FOR SEP08-APR09 ELIGIBLE FOR BSC/HON , H LIFE SCIENCE BHSC/HON, HON B HTH SCI REGISTER FOR HTH SCI 2D06 IN LIEU OF HTH SCI 2E03. STATS 1CC3 WILL REPLACE HTH SCI 2A03 (STATS).
I know somebody else has "DECISION PENDING" on theirs instead of eligible, even though they met the GPA cutoff...
Then again this could all mean nothing.

Hey
My transcript is pretty similar to that except it doesn't have the STATS thing. And yup, I heard about someone with decision pending, and someone who got ineligible even though their marks were over the cutoff. So yeah, Im tempted to think its an acceptance, but you never know lol.

Hey guys!
Sorry for the late reply! First and foremost, congratulations to sraw and aani for getting accepted into the program. I am sure that you guys will do very well in the program! In terms of my transcript, it also says "Decision Pending." I did get a chance to get in touch with the BHSc administration office and they said that they haven't gotten a chance to review my application yet. I know of a couple of people that have "Decision Pending" as well. My guess is that the office is assessing the applications in order of submission. I submitted my application about 5 minutes prior to the deadline, and so it will probably be one of the last ones to be reviewed. But, my only question is that what if they pick out 20 applications by the time they get to my application (because students, like sraw and aani, have already been accepted ). Also, they said that nobody has been notified by e-mail yet and that they will send out admission decisions, via email, in a week or two. So, hopefully (for MB and myself) we find out about our status by the end of next week. Once again, congratulations to sraw and aani!
