Hi!
I was just wondering what is recommended for AP students, taking credit for the course and moving on to a second year course, or just taking the course over again? I'm thinking specifically for Biology and Calculus BC...
Thanks!

What do you mean by AP? I'm not sure if I understand.

I never took AP courses but I have a friend who did and she skipped to second year courses (in Geography). From my understanding the AP courses are pretty all encompassing. That said, I have another friend who took AP courses in Scarborough and he did great, but he is not failing out of school, he still took the first year courses here.

I would try and look at the course outline in more depth on university websites, if you can get access to them and compare to what you would be, or are learning in the AP courses in high school.

Simply, if there are too many discrepancies between the two courses, take the course over again.

I'm in the same situation and it was suggested to me to take the 1st year class anyways so that I wasn't missing anything and also because its a huge transition from high school to university so if you're taking a class that you already know most of the matterial it gives you less stress and more time to focus on you other classes.....hope this helps

Also worth considering is what mark they are going to give you for that course you are planing on skipping. I'm not sure that I want to have a grade of, let's say, automatic 80% on my university transcript. And since I brougt it up, how can we find out what equivalent mark the universities will give for an AP 4/5? I imagine that each university has different guidelines...
