Okay, so I'm guessing by this time, we have all loosely decided which university to go to. I would love to hear why people are going to certain universities - the good and the bad. Here's some stuff you can talk about:
- Reputation (esp. when trying to get into grad school or jobs) - Quality of Education - Student life - Cities - in terms of things to do - Student Satisfaction - Athletic Centre (getting the most for your money) - Programs and co-op opportunities - International exchange programs.
PS: would love to hear about Mac, UofT (all campuses), Western, Waterloo and anything else you can think of =D

- Reputation... not the greatest, but i don't really care. i'm going for an arts program so rep doesn't make a huge difference. - Quality of Education .. ryerson is pretty well known for their arts programs, so i'm sure it will be good - Student life .. for a commuter school, i would say it's good.. def better than u of t haha - Cities - DT toronto.. eaton's centre, clubs, restaurants, all that jazz. - Student Satisfaction - not really sure of this one - Athletic Centre (getting the most for your money) i think the athletic centre is "free".. i haven't actually seen the facilities but i'm sure its the same as any other uni - Programs and co-op opportunities.. none that i know of - International exchange programs.. they have a lot of exchanges possible.. some of the ones i saw we're sydney, rome, london,
ohh yeah and $1500 for 85 avg. pretty sweet.

McGill's not really on your list but Just cause i'm excited to have finally chosen it, for real this time: - Reputation Top-tier in canada i think, especially out of the country. - Quality of Education I'm not sure how to really tell this apart from other schools. Top notch professors? I don't know, I probably won't be able to complain. It is ranked pretty high for quality of education in macleans - Student life Nothing special I don't think. - Cities - in terms of things to do Montreal. Oh god. It screams sexy. - Student Satisfaction Hmm This isn't so high, but it's not too low. I, personally, will be satisfied. - Athletic Centre (getting the most for your money) Biggest one I've seen out of Mac, Queens, UWO, Waterloo - Programs and co-op opportunities no co-op; but there are internship opportunities. Gives me the program I want; pretty liberal in terms of course selection/electives which is how I like it. - International exchange programs. has partner schools all over the world as well as field studies.

Hmm McGill sounds good ... I've heard they have partnerships with Oxford... which I have to say is awesome!! (Ive always wanted to visit UK ^^) Oh, dont take my list to heart, its just a couple of names I could think of at the moment, all unis are welcome

I guess I have to question the wisdom of a thread were students evaluate universities they haven't been to yet.

Figured out which university to go to yet? Not a chance. I'm still deciding. UofT, Waterloo, and McGill (only three I applied to). Help me out here...
Reasons: Reputation: They're all pretty good, though McGill's weaker on the engineering side (which is what I've applied to)
Quality of education: Again, all pretty good
Program Coolness (because that actually is a factor for me): UofT - engineering science (tolerable), Waterloo - nanotechnology engineering (way, way cool), McGill - EE (tolerable)
Co-op: Only Waterloo, but I don't care much either way
Cost: Ontario schools - expensive tuition + living costs, McGill - cheap (I live in Montreal)
I don't care about the other things.

I don't care about the other things. Lol don't worry I'm still deciding between UofT and Mac myself... From what I know, Waterloo's co-op programs are great and help you get a leg up in the industry. That said, I do believe that UofT's program has more prestige (or maybe because I just live around here that I hear about it so much ^^"). In terms of student life, UofT engineers seem to have the most spirit out of anyone on that campus. If money is an issue, McGill is definately not a bad option ... it's internationally renowned, and as I someone said up here, it has a lot of cool programs. It is also smaller than UofT, not sure about Waterloo. Have you visited these universities yet? If not, I suggest you look around a bit. Sure it will cost you a bit now, but save you a lot of trouble later ^^. All I can say is, go to a university that gets you excited and makes you happy. Don't pay them to make you miserable ^_^" GL.
