No, they need to file 2007 taxes so you have the numbers.

eligible for 8,500 it will cover everything and then probably a few hundred left. and I've got a job waiting for me on campus so its kool. Just need to send in 3 forms (signature ones) I was confused a lot when first starting out especially with the income.

You said that it will cover everything so is it the case that you already have quite a bit saved up or your parents are covering the rest? Just asking because I'm approved for about $6500.

Well this is for Fall/Winter

Bus: $1,150

Tuition:$5,278

Books: $1,000 - $1,500

Total: $7,398 - 7,898

Yet I'll probably get less later because I'll have to tell OSAP that I'm getting a job and maybe a bursary I dunno yet

I don't get it though... how will I ever pay the $7000-8000 for residence and meal plan?? frown
It's my only concern now and it's tickin me offff lol

This person is obviously not going to be in residence, he will be living off campus and commuting.
You have to get a job, earn your own money, or take a loan from a bank, or from a family member if OSAP does not give you enough.

i'm on the osap website and i'm searching for 'biochemistry' for the program i'm going to be in and nothing's showing up

has anyone from western going into biological and medical science applied for OSAP yet? and if so, what program should be selected to represent biomed? the list doesn't include a program called biomed, it's all split up into medical science, biology, etc. i can't type it into the "If you have searched carefully and you cannot find your program, enter the program name below." thing either cuz the full name of biomed is 1 letter too long... it also wont let me search the program code, so i'm at a complete loss..

Are you taking your program of study through correspondence or distance education?

Does this mean if were living away from home?

no?

I think that means like, if ur goign to Queen's but studying in europe.

Distance education and correspondence means you are enrolled in Queens but doing the courses on your own over the internet or paper courses so you are enrolled but not going there...make sense?

Correspondence/distance ed is courses where you aren't physically taking classes at the university but are instead studying the material on your own and completing assignments etc and sending them in to be marked.

Correspondence would tend to refer to the idea that stuff is being mailed back and forth between you and the university, while distance ed would tend to be somewhat more inclusive of the fact that it's more often handled online these days.

If you don't know what it is, it probably doesn't apply to you.

FAQ's:
1. Will I get in? See: electronicinfo.ca for Ontario schools. If you have a couple percent above the marks there and it's not looking at supplementary, the answer is almost certainly yes.
2. Anything else: Google it before asking.

Each semester is about 16 weeks, so 32. Although look around the OSAP site and see what they use as examples, they might use 34, in which case I'd put that.

My friend's being admitted to university in the winter term.
Does anyone know when to apply for OSAP if you're starting in either the winter or spring terms?

I believe you can apply now, it's just a matter of when te funds will be available. I'm pretty sure that in applying you state which term you're entering in and for how long.

Don't exactly quote me on that though.

Yes, you're open to apply now, but you can apply later. Just remember they need at least 10 weeks to process your application.
