I got rejected by my first choice. But I think that I wouldn't have gone there even if I had been accepted. Artsci all the way!

What can u do with that degree? How is the job opportunity? I love english and the arts (history, philosophy, etc.) as they are my favorite subjects.. But i have to end up going into life science or biomedical science because those programs have higher job opportunities -.-...

I have to respectfully disagree that life science or biomedical science programs have higher job opportunities.

I got accepted by my first choice over 1-2 months ago (Carleton U, BA Honors English), and I took it up because I thought it would be the only one I would be accepted by big grin but yeah.. just in the past 3 days I got acceptance packages by both York and Ottawa U haha.

~~~Accepted offer to Ba Honors English @ Carleton Univerity, Ottawa big grin~~~
I also accepted my first choice. I'm trying to fulfill the offer conditions though. Inshallah, I'll fulfill them.
Hmm, well my ideal choice would have been Ryerson Journalism. I ranked them first on OUAC. I was accepted, but turned them down because they didn't offer me any money. I went with Carleton Journalism. The reputation of the program is just as good, and they gave me $16,000 more than Ryerson...sounds good to me. haha.
I'm going into english and then applying to concurrent education in my second year. I want to teach the primary grades. If you enjoy the arts, why not teach english or history in high school? And I agree with alys98. If you aren't going to enjoy what you will be doing, why bother doing it? In my opinion, having a career you hate just to make money is truly stupid.
