I think the last one i watched was Alien vs. Predator: Requiem back during the Christmas break. I didnt particularly like the storyline, but the action scenes were decent enough to make the movie bearable.

I watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang last weekend, and was it ever good. Excellent dialogue, good action, and strong and interesting plot. It's one of those movies you can probably watch over a few times, too.

Just saw Persepolis and it was fantastic. Personally I love cartoons and politics so this was right up my alley but the animation style and a look at a country from an insiders perspective would be interesting for anyone.

I'm in the middle of watching Freedom Writers. It's REALLY good so far. I also just recently saw Spiderman 3...good special effects, but the writing and acting weren't so great.

Across the Universe has turned into one of my all time favs. Alot of people don't like musicals but when watching this you hardly even remember that you're watching a musical. Very good script and always found myself singing along with the music!
and I did end up watching No Country for Old Men JUST because of the Oscars, and it ended up being a decent movie. Juno was spectacular. I think it should have won!

I also like the movie Across the Universe. I mostly loved the songs, I couldn't believe they were originally by the Beatles!

Accross the universe was great, but some of the renditions of the beatles' songs were too off. I really liked My Guitar Gently Weeps, but a lot of the times the singers were too theatrical for the songs they were singing. I didn't really like the slowed down version of I want to Hold your hand, for example. Also, sometimes, the songs had nothing to do with the scene they were happening in. I loved the magical mystery tour part though, bono singing I am the Walrus was priceless.
Has anyone else seen No Country for Old Men, yet? Amazing film, from a film-making standpoint, it was one of the best movies i've ever seen. Pretty frikken creepy too.

Well I work at the Movie Theatre, so...I'm pretty up to date on what's out there.
Fool's Gold - Lame! Don't see it!
Step up 2 the Streets - Again, Lame!
Semi-Pro - Another Lame Will Farrell movie.
Jumper - Really short, and lame. haha.
Actually there has really been crappy movies out lately. For me, these are the movies I have enjoyed in teh past six months:
Sweeny Todd
Across the Universe (Not all the versions of the Beatles songs were great, but I love hearing different versions of old songs like that, it really brings them back and makes them feel like new songs again)
Hit Man
Elizabeth: The Golden Age (If you enjoy history)
But if you go to any Cineplex owned theater in ontario, they are giving out 2 for 1 passes valid till the end of March, so at least it won't hurt as much when you've realized you wasted money on a crappy movie.

The last movie I saw in theatres was Step Up 2. I really liked it. Well, I really liked looking at it... There's not too much in the way of a plot but multiple shirts of multiple boys with abs are removed.... and every girl knows that that's always pleasant... ;)

A few of the movies I've seen in the last few months:
Sweeney Todd: Loved it. I thought they did an excellent job and seeing depp sing was actually pretty enjoyable
The Illusionist: It was good, though I felt it didn't delve deep enough into some of the parts of the plot and characters I would have liked to see more. Paul Giamatti was great, as were Edward Norton and Rufus Sewell (who is becoming one of my favourite actors now...he's almost got that Joaquin Phoenix feel to him)
Ratatouille: Very good for an animated film. I liked the story line and I actually had been reluctant to see it before
Cars: I take care of younger children so i watched this recently. It was better than i had thought it would be
Sicko: Setting aside some objectivity concerns people may have with Moore's works I actually found this to be a pretty good doc/expose. He makes a lot of good points here.
Why We Fight: Excellent. Highly recommend it.
The Devil Came on Horseback: A sobering doc, though it does have some objectivity issues. Nonetheless it really brings to light some very important, and saddening, issues
And that's all i can think of now

I saw Juno a while ago now, but absolutely loved it. I love Michael Cera, and Ellen Page did a great job as well. Last night, I watched I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry yesterday and it was pretty hilarious. Not exactly realistic but it was funny nonetheless. I also saw Charlie Bartlett about a week ago, absolutely loved it, it's such an underrated movie. Definitely go see it or rent it when it comes out.
