June 16th SAO FTW!!! I've gotten so used to checking my Western email lol, I don't know why though, I have two messages in there haha. I even know my random computer generated password by heart.
And yeah, I haven't gotten a faculty specific package yet.

My SAOs June 16th, first one XD.
sicklyfe, I haven't gotten my faculty package, but in the Academic calendar it tells you what courses you need to take for first year in your program. In my case, my only requisite is Sociology, so I took that, then I also want to take Poli Sci, Philosophy, Classical Studies, and then two half credit Comp. Sci courses for my Breadth Requirement (Comp. Sci Fundamentals I - no programming experience, and Multimedia and Communication).

I am so confused.
I called the number 519-661-3070 to try to book an appointment over the phone, and it turns out thats the number you call to pay bills.
they forwarded me to the registrars office which then gave me the number to the social sciences office which was closed.
what the hell am I supposed to do?
unlike you guys, I can't make it to Western's campus for SAO. where do I register for Academic counseling over the phone? The online form only is for SAO's on campus.
can someone please help me.

can someone please help me. Have you emailed the registrar's office? I called them last time to discuss about the SAO and all they did was transfer me to some lady who seemed to be away for vacation or something because for 4 days, it just told me to leave a message (which I didn't). Call back, them the social sciences office was closed and ask if there's someone else capable of having a chat with you regarding your issue.

I just do not understand the point of academic counseling.
If I can not attend the SAO, is it mandatory for me to receive some sort of academic counseling before I register for courses?

The point of academic counseling is to help people who dont know what course to take or if you cant decide between similar course (i.e. physics 1024 and 1028/1029) so if you already know what you want to take ... there's no need.

LOL would you care to go into more detail? I kinda have to do Sociology and keep a 70% average in the course. Why is the class average 50s? Is it that hard? If so, is it because of subject matter, prof marks hard, assignments weighed heavily?
