I AM pretty jealous of that 52% essay.

Yeah but some people were even jealous of me having the opportunity to get more time! Crazy!

The truly great thing about sarcasm:

When insulting those brilliant few who, just by existing, are asking for it, you will feel reasonable satisfied yet they won't even feel the brunt of the insult. It works out for everyone you see.

This was really nothing more than a grand bullying session.

Even if your point of view is correct, take the time to say it politely and kindly.

No, the truth is it wasn't. I was just browsing through the forums (my first time here), read through this, and had to comment. Should have realized it was old.

Ok, so having a low B is perhaps not what you dreamed of... but if it's only the one mark that's pulling you down, that means you're not bad at the class - you made a mistake. Admittedly a large mistake, but it's your only one, so you can recover. Maybe the mark isn't that great... you can either make your other marks so good that they balance that English mark, or if it looks like it'll be a major problem, you can retake the course and learn from your mistakes.

hey so this time he gave me a 4.5/6 on my essay but the writing was edited and enhanced by my valid sources many times just for kicks. It is the most flawless piece of writing my hands ever laid on. Who should I contact to show how my essay undeservingly got the mark...? The only mistake he found out with my essay is that I didn't spell "guarantee" correctly!

The wanna-be-german has been always like that. Why he wanders around the stress therapy section is beyond me. Stringer if you want to read mine do you promise of not snatching it and putting your name on this beautiful piece of writing.

What does nationality have to do with anything?

Well to me he is defaming Germany by holding the German Flag as his signature and being mean to other members. I am sad that he is giving the wrong idea of what a german is be it intentional or not.

1. The "School Board of Canada" can't do anything for you as they don't exist. The "Phyco" evaluation doesn't appear to exist either, although there may be a "Psycho" evaluation.
2. I always got lower marks on in class/exam writing too. It is different than writing something where you have less time pressure, and can look up your sources, etc.
3. While I understand that there are legitimate reasons for getting extra time, you should be requesting that in advance rather than after the fact. It's not entirely clear whether you did or not.

Hahaha, when I read the "School Board of Canada" part I was like "Whaaat??" Good call.

Anyways, everybody makes a screw-up once in a while, so why the whining? Sure Stringer sounds offensive, but be honest, that's what we're all thinking. Most of us just puts it in a sympathetic tone.

uh... what was that quote I saw on TV yesterday again? O yes, "arguing online is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you are still challenged".

Please, stop posting in this thread and let it die.

Christ. Get over it. It's ONE ESSAY. English 11 doesn't matter, and if it does matter in the least bit, the B will suffice well enough. H/She's just a grade grubber. Looking for sympathy over the internet is like asking a homeless guy for a 10,000$ loan.

please do post this essay so we can see whether or not you have validity in accusing your teacher of being unfair towards you.

The one thing that comes off with pretty much every one of your posts is that you've got a real problem with entitlement issues (to say the least) and a fair bit of anger bubbling up in there. I'm with the ones who say you're going to take a huge bite in the butt when you get out into the real world. You'll find out soon enough that everyone has rights, not just you.

I too would love to see your example of flawless writing.

You're right. Clearly you, a high schooler who is struggling in Grade 11 English, can compose a piece of literature so great that I, a university student with zero classes which require writing essays, would give my left kidney to copy.

Take a step back and look at the way you are acting. You believe that everything should be handed to you on a silver platter. You're 16 or 17 years old and you believe that you can write prose that is "flawless". You believe that your shortcomings as a student are not your own fault, but the fault of others for ignoring you.

You're going to read this and think "This Stringer guy is an idiot and so mean". The reality is I'm just saying what your ego has been hiding from you for years.
