OK take it down a notch bud, not everyone needs to get a career in which they can buy the friends/women they didn't have in highschool. (I'm not knocking engineers, but your arrogance is ridiculous.) Arts has the worst rep because everyone can get in, instead of slashing the arts dept, the admission averages just need to be raised. If you can't end up with an 80% avg, without taking the sciences and maths that are pre-requisites for business/science etc, then what do you expect to get out of Univ.?

If you can't end up with an 80% avg, without taking the sciences and maths that are pre-requisites for business/science etc, then what do you expect to get out of Univ.? First of all, I don't need to buy my friends/women that I "didn't have in high school". The fact that you even insinuate that proves how impaired your logic is. Secondly, I'm not in engineering. If the averages were raised, where would all the people with no ambition, drive, or intelligence go? Unfortunately, Canada is starting to turn into the states, creating a race of spoiled brats (for the most part). I do agree what I said was wrong, but I felt a bit elitist that day, and for that, I apologize. I'm just sick of being in classes with the "art kids" and getting a better mark than them without really trying, especially in subjects like English, History, and Drama. All while their parents foot the bill for their "education", while the kids who work their ass off are smothered in debt. While I do agree there are some brilliant and hard-working minds in Arts programs, I have a severe distaste for those who pursue an arts degree and then cry when they can't find a decent job, or even complain when a teacher didn't give them an A for showing up to class. Once again, I do apologize, as for the most part, those on studentawards in art programs do not fit into the aforementioned categories. I am a little overzealous regarding my faculty and program

Erm, I'm not even pursuing a liberal arts degree and I can understand their frustration with comments like this =S
FYI, A true Engineer understands the importance of art to their work. I don't see how they don't go together? Engineering in itself is an art, haha.
I know this is irrelevant, but I wish we’d –stop- having such a high school mentality about these issues. ie. YAY I'm smarter than you because I'm in Environmental Science boo! Pfft if I say that I should get punched in the face, hard. Even if it is an Arts student who does it, because they've clearly had to swallow a lot of crap lol.

Um, I started this thread as a joke, kinda like the my-university-is-better-than-yours thread... but I guess your faculty is a bit more personal...

I know it's all in good fun, but some people get so ecstatic about it, they kind of take it too far. We can hold our horses, and step back a bit. can you imagine how crazy this thread would be if there was a religious studies faculty but yea im going into business school and im starting to wonder if an under grade business degree really means anything, when it comes to MBA however business trumps all. btw just to support the art ppl the HBA is an hounors of arts in business admin i still don't think arts is any good though

i still don't think arts is any good though Most universities have a Religion department. It is housed under the Faculty of Arts.

Allow me to make the following hypothesis: Engineering + Art = Architecture
Which further insinuates that:
Architecture - Art = Engineering Architecture - Engineering = Art
Eh lol, makes sense to me.
And in terms of faculties (something like this was probably posted before, but too lazy to check):
Sociology = Psychology = Biology = Chemistry = Physics = Math = ______..?
Can anyone fill in the blank?
