They say wlu's bba students get hired by many big firms. Are there any real statistics or data that show that? I'm trying to convince my dad to let me go there (rather than Atkinson). Thanks.

Annival// I think Bacc co-op's pretty good for accounting. Maybe on the similar tier as WLU accounting? Plus, they give out so much scholarships!
Wsitumn// Why does your dad like Atkinson? Obviously WLU BBA is better than Atkinson, where you only get BA.

Thanks. Okay i don't no where you can find any stats to prove that big firms hire laurier students but they do from what i no (cousin is in 3rd year dd)... Atkinson doesn't even give a bba they give you a bas(bachelors in administrative studies) which could handicap you when you apply to get a job because your employer probably will not know wtf that is(bas)

I believe co-op's guaranteed for people who are in utsc co-op. Anyways, i got in really early, maybe February 5th? My grade 12 marks weren't updated by then so they must've used my grade 11 average which was around borderline 90.

My friend was in the same position last year. She actually got an acceptance at this time! Your average definitely seems to be where the cut off is, so I'd called them up just to be sure. Good luck!

Good luck! dude lol i have called multiple times and have asked every possible question even the same question worded differently.... when it comes to the cut off its 87% thats done with and for the rest like me and r009 the abs comes i into play which they read over "supposedly" and i also asked if they would look at the quality of the abs over the persons average and she replied by saying that they take both into consideration but obviously if you think about it they are not gonna have enough time to read over 1000 abs forms because the cut off for them to reply is the 26th of may and they are probably gonna start accepting people according to avg after 87% but im sure if you sound retarded in your abs form then your probably gonna get kicked down the list or just not get considered after that at all......... after the part where i wrote "but obviously if you think about it" thats me assuming things to make my self feel better about my situations but also sounds reasonable to me

That's strange because ABS should only help you. Typically ABS only matters for people who are below the cutoffs, but you aren't so that's weird. Perhaps a lot of people already accepted their offers, and it's much more than the university anticipated. But just wait for it...I hope you get in!

Thanks. Everyone is so right, WLU is a much better program. I think Atkinson lacks in many areas like career development and its reputation isn't superior as WLU BBA. although Atkinson is not that bad for accounting, probably WLU BBA is better in employment level and u can also apply for coop. But it's ur choice. if u like WLU than go there, university choice should be up to u.

how does the wlu bba program compare with mcmaster's business and western's bmos programs in terms of pursuing the CA designation or accounting in general?
