Sorry about the confusion, but yeah I'm in first year university already at york. But yeah Last year when I applied with a 78% average I couldn't get in and was put on the waiting list. I talk to them about it and they said it was weird and I should of been accepted. But this year I applied I got in.

honestly im PISSED that the cutoffs are rising
i mean, ryerson has every right to do that
but i dont think its fair that they changed it without a notice
the least they could do is update their website so that people like me can be informed
I JUST FOUND OUT TODAY THAT NURSING CUTOFF WENT UP TO 85-87!!!
its just RIDICULOUS
its even higher than mcmaster or queens wow
im speechless...
i have 82 average
so i thought that i could be accepted
considering the cutoff used to be just AT LEAST AN 80

i really dont think its fair to everyone
that they changed the cutoff AFTER we applied
if i knew that if the average was going to increase then i wouldn't have applied at all
what a waste of money
not fair.....not fair... ughhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

all offers from ryerson are conditional - you must meet the conditions stated in your letter (they will have an overall percentage grade, and specific course marks.. like for me i need an overall 71% average, and 70% in english.)

Well mine doesn't say any of that. By the way i'm not in high school, it just says "you have been approved on the condition that: you successfully complete your current post secondary studies with acceptable academic standing and submit an official transcript of all final grades"

I had a panic attack this morning in class because there are only 10 days left until the deadline, so after first period, I called the admissions office and asked about my application status. The lady was really rude and told me to just keep checking my choose ryerson page.

I'm going to apply to graphic communications management and itm later tonight just incase. I just don't know how to do it via the OUAC site. Can anyone who applied late possibly message me or post how to on here? I went to the OUAC site, but it says only one admission process per cycle...?

Haha, I'm so pathetic. worry

It would depend on how many choices you have. Initally you get 3 choices for 1 price right? Any more and you'd have to pay an additional 35$/program fee I believe. But I would call Ryerson first before making any moves and check with them to see if the programs you are applying to are still open to accepting applications (OUAC should be updated showing what programs are still open when you click "Ryerson University"). If they are! Then either subsitute one of your 3 choices and submit or just add another program and pay the 35$ fee. Remember to take down the confirmation number at the end, so if anything wrong happens you can flag them with the number.

Good luck!

I checked and as of May 3rd, the 2 programs are still accepting applications. But today is May 12th, so I would call and check with them. But note that when you apply to these 2 programs they are based on first come first serve, open space. Nothing to do with marks! All business programs are still open, except the business management 4 year program (may 3rd)

I just dropped my choice to Carleton and replaced it with the ITM course. I'm locked out of my OUAC account now, so I'll most likely add the Graphic Comm. program tomorrow. Are there any kind of exceptions or circumstances for people who apply late? Or will my application just get thrown into the pile just like everyone elses? By the way, thank you dimsum! smile

Sorry to say this, but it will be thrown into the box/pile/container with others applying to the same program. But in my opinion, I think if the program is still open to accepting application, it means there is still room for students to fill up spots for the program! You will be placed in whatever sequence you apply, so basically if you applied earlier you'd be first on the list. There won't be any exceptions or circumstances, the only ones i've heard of was the garenteed considration and that was if you applied before the deadline.. other than that it is all based on first come first serve. I think you have a good standing into being accepted into ITM program since it is still open... Like think about it, if it was all full I doubt it will still be open for people to apply. So have some faith, pray before you sleep and good luck once againcheers

That means you gotta wait it out and see whoever applied to there hopefully drops it and takes another choice and you will be bumped up the list. The waiting list is the most stressful thing ever, as you might or might not get accepted.... So prepare a rebound program that you might be interested!!

This includes anyone who applied but has yet to accept an offer anywhere right? So lets say someone gets accepted to a bunch of programs (ryerson included) but they're waiting on a different school.. does their pending offer count as a 'spot' in the program?
