i messed up the advanced function last term, it's like 81%. im planning to repeat it next semester, but one thing bothers me, how doews the university treat the repeating course? they treat it like the first time or they will take off some marks? thanks

hmm
it really depends on the uni.
majority of the unis take the highest mark, but i know utsg takes first attempt (unless you have a really good reason- i.e.: sickness), whereas mac, laurier, ryerson and etcetcetc take the highest.
queen's avgs the two, i believe.

it depends on what universities you have applied for. some only look at the new repeated mark while others add both marks and divide by two. i don't think you should repeat adv. functions because you have 81% which is very good. if you don't like your current mark then simply work harder for the rest of the semester and boost it up to 85+ percent. most people that repeat a course like adv. functions end up feeling annoyed and don't attend the class often because they believe that they don't need to. i was talking to one of my math teachers and he said that people that repeat a math course are almost always going to end up with the same mark that they received the first time. universities may wonder why you would repeat adv. functions with a mark like that so it's probably best to just increase your mark in that class now rather than having to repeat it all over again.
