Stupid as sh*t university. Who wants to live on 2$ a day OSAP loans all the time. Why don't they have co-op opportunities?

Because they ride on "dual degrees"
They have internships but that is no help for the first three years

Why did you switch to engineering? Finally realized that majoring in Arts is a one way road to poverty?

If you want co-op so badly then go somewhere else...different universities offer different things. It's like saying why Queen's doesn't offer a BAcc. They just...don't. And majoring in Arts does not necessarily mean you're going to be living on the streets begging for money. Being successful is completely dependent on what kind of a person you are.

GRADUATE WITH TWO DEGREES AT THE SAME TIME In addition to our core engineering programs, Western Engineering also offers two types of dual degrees: Concurrent Degrees and Combined Degrees. Concurrent Degrees: these five-year programs allow our students to graduate with two degrees at the same time. Some of the more popular concurrent degree programs combined with Engineering are major modules in the following areas: • Applied Math • Biology • Biomaterials • Computer Science • Economics • Environmental Science • Materials Science • Medical Biophysics • Physics • Psychology Students who wish to complete a concurrent degree in an area not listed here may work with an Academic Counsellor to custom design a concurrent degree program. Combined Degrees: these degrees are similar to a concurrent degree but are offered with one of Western’s professional Faculties: the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, the Richard Ivey School of Business, and Western Law.

sveritas and the others are right, if you want co-op there are plenty of other universities that have good co-op programs. There's no need to criticize UWO simply for this reason, considering the other universities that don't offer co-ops. Try Waterloo, I hear they have good co-op programs...
