yes , I am from Alberta.
it seems like majority of the people on this forum are from Ontario area and about ...

Just really hoping that I'll be able to get some scholarships to help out with my tuition .
When people apporve you for bursaries , say , do they look at your family income and your own income during the school year ?

I'm surprised your school wouldnt mention anything. Oh well.
About the bursary thing, the government most likely look at both incomes. Same thing with university bursary programs ( I know Waterloo, Carleton, Toronto look at both)

ah . i see .
well I guess it would be logical to say that I'd probably be working less in my graduating year to concentrate on my studies, thus leading to a lower income for myself .
And I think my dad is retiring ... so logically speaking, would I potentially be awarded more for burisaries ?

He'll probably be getting a pension, I'd assume. You'll still have to claim his income, etc. If you are the only one going to be in university, and your parents make more than like ~$70K together, you probably won't get much.

my dad is planning to retire EARLY , so I don't know if it's he doesn't get pension or he doesn't get as much since he hasn't reached the limit age yet .
and my family is considered in the low income area . i get monthly payments from the governemnt for schooling .

bursaries are free moeny

they are not loans.
I;m sure Alberta does the same thing but OSAP when OSAP gives you money i think anything over 7000 is considered a bursary
