You're guaranteed a spot in resi if your average is 78% I believe. Other than that its random lottery as for what building you get, taking your preferences into account.

If you have a 95% or above top 6 you get guaranteed a single room which may help with your keyes/bates aspirations. Unfortunately the chances of getting keyes is kinda slim... however I did have friends who requested each other and got it so it happens big grin

How about your request each other for traditional as well? Traditional is better especially for first year.

And yeah you're set after you pay, just wait until june/july to get your assignment smile

no one can smoke or use any other drug in the building..

thx god i kno someone whose gonna stay with me..im an asthematic and i literally feel like throwing up wen it comes to cigarette smoke lol

@aibrean: yup i think im gonna change those lol
"

That's good that you're changing... the rez app is kinda effed up I know razz

You won't have to worry about cigarette smoking in rez at all. If you were on a campus tour actually you might have noticed those weirdo bus stop looking things outside of most residence buildings. Those are the smoke huts and students can only smoke there so the smoke doesn't go anywhere near peoples windows/etc. They're really intense about this too which is good for you big grin

thas a sigh of relief! Pay up ppl..you guys need to submit 600 by tomorrow 4pm est..we still have another week to alter our rez choices

Hey, i am applying to rez right now and i was wondering why some of the halls (mckay, hedden, etc.) were listed as having double with washroom. Does this mean that they have doubles with washrooms because i have not heard of these anywhere... or are the forms screwed up? Please reply quickly i would like to send my form tonight... Thanks

Sorry I hope I didn't miss you doing your form. Try not to list too many double with washrooms unless its in Les Prince because honestly they don't exist. There may be one or two in the building but they're usually for IRC/C.A's so its not going to happen. If you did apply with lots of these I think you have another week to change your preferences.

So I noticed that there are a lot of ppl on here who say that single rooms suck, and I was wondering just how much they suck. my issue is that I have a medical condition (concentration issues), and I really do need my own room. However, I dont want to miss out on anything socially!! What should I do?

Also, I was thinking about Wallingford because the building is sooo nice, but I dont know if I'd like living with all girls. I like to have guy friends too! what is it like? are there still lots of opportunities to meet guys? thanks!

Hi there! I lived in a Wallingford single this year and I will be in one next year as well. Definitely go with the single if you have a serious medical condition. I didn't suffer socially I just found it lonely a lot. As long as you get out and meet people (which you will, if you're in Wally I'm going to come and drag you out all the time razz) you'll be fine don't be too worried about it.

Definitely go for Wallingford. Its the smallest building and the quietest so it'll be best for your condition. Also the singles kick major ass (bigger than doubles in Brandon, and hardwood floors).

Don't let the misconceptions about all-female res' get to you. Its all a load of BS, Wallingford is AWESOME. I had such a fantastic time (that's why I'm back again ;) ) and you will too. You'll also have lots of opportunities to meet guys of course! We have mixers with co-ed buildings all the time and you'll meet guys in your classes and at the various campus events.

Make sure to fill out the special form for medical needs to ensure you get a single. I hope you get Wallingford! big grin

Okay, residences operate on two bathroom situations. Either they will have large communal washrooms on each floor. These have lots of showers/sinks/toilets and there is usually one huge one for each gender. Or the other situation is each floor or group of rooms will share a bunch of single washrooms. Both genders use these washrooms.

There is no way to say which residence has the most washrooms per student because it just doesn't work that way. Also YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO WAIT! This is a big needless worry of a lot of first years. I lived in an all-girls rez, almost 30 people on my floor, 4 showers. NEVER had to wait!

Don't worry about the bathroom situation, it'll be fine wherever you end up.

Okay this all depends on luck. If your number is picked by the computer later on, all your listed preferences may be full. This is when they will randomly assign you... yes possibly to a triple. Unfortunately its all based on luck.

You may end up in one but don't worry they're not that bad! Some buildingds have sick triples that are enormous and even the people I know that ended up in bunk/lofts didn't mind it at all.

Just wish for the best big grin

thanks for the quick reply aibrean. I think I'm going to put wallingford on my app for sure, maybe number one. I love tea, therefore I will love the tea room! haha. I'm pretty sure I'll spend every waking/non studying moment in the common rooms anyway. I was wondering, how my floors is it, and how many common rooms/kitchen things are there? thanks!!

Hello~ I just have a quick question - if you don't rank a residence on your list, does that mean that you won't get it? I know that's kind of impossible if you have say, only 2 residences ranked, but will it be more likely that you won't get a residence you didn't rank if you already have around 12 preferences ranked before?
Thanks!
