UoT might be a slight reach for you with your present marks.

You'd be lucky if you make the last round of acceptances. The English mark and Chemistry are definitely working against you. I only count 5 subjects, what was your next highest average? And your university acceptance is based solely on your first semester finals and second semester mid-terms, so that 71 in Chem is almost considered as your final mark as far as the admission team at UofT is concerned.

All my other marks such as M courses like Programming, Technology are above 90s if thats what you mean by next high average.

What were the averages in your top 6 courses including English and other prereqs if any?

What was last year's cutoff? If 84 is slightly above or on par with last year's cutoff, you may be able to make the last round of admissions. If it's slightly below, it's more of a long shot. If it's vastly below, go back to school for an extra semester and bring up your average and try again next year.

You should be fine then. I got in early with an average that was barely above the cutoff. Your offer probably won't come until May though.

Umm i think they refferred to something called... math.
When universities look at your marks they take a group of required courses, and then your top marks, until they reach 6,
English is always included in this average.

I think you should be okay, usually they say the "cut-off" is 81-82 but that turns out to be the average.
However I know this year the Dean wants to cut the number of first years to give the faculty a more of a community feel but I'm not sure if that will go through since applications to UofT eng have increased nearly over 10%

Well considering the fact that ENG4U is required to do ANY program in university, I'd say it has a somewhat major relevance. No one's being pessimistic, once I found out he was above the cutoff, I told him that there was nothing to worry about, how is that pessimistic?

Actually, Individual marks determine if you recieve an offer and later on if you can retain it. If your chem or english marks drop BELOW 70 or borderline 70, no matter if you're accepted or not, you're not going into ECE.
