I can't help you there, since I didn't have to write the PSE or Con-ed essay. I applied for the Chancellor's scholarship. Didn't get it though, lol.

I can PM you my ec's, if you want? I'm sure your essays are fine though smile

Yes, please! It would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to find a point of reference to which I can compare myself, which is probably rather sad...

Anyway, thank you. And I forgot to say: CONGRATULATIONS ON THE ACCEPTANCE! smile

I wanted to show that I was a well-rounded, dedicated type of teacher in my essay who already knows a fair amount about teaching. I discussed how as I part time job I teach classes at my local community centre, from which I learned that differentiated instruction is best. I also put that I was my school's DECA president (initiative, leadership, commitment, determination) and that I administrated an online community (compassion, sympathy...you'd understand if you knew the community I speak of).

Applied to: Con.Ed Trent-Queen's, Con.Ed Queen's, Con.Ed Windsor, Con.Ed Nippissing

I also believed that they are looking for someone well rounded, but whether that's true or not, I have yet to know (still waiting). I included my involvement with the city as a board member of a youth network, involvement with my school as president of the security and student safety council, work experience at a private school, design firm, and a news outlet. I also took some time to mention my hobbies, which are graphic design, photography, and piano, and made the connection as to how these skills related to education.

Alas, my average is only 92% for the past 2 terms, so I will wait patiently in limbo.

Ba Ba Blue, are you going to attend the May 1st Open House at Trent? Also, which college will you choose to live in if you are living on campus at all?

I have a 93, 94, 95, 95, 95, and another 95. i screwed up and got a 75 (first semester gr.11... thought i was going into arts) ... that equals 91.16
i am going to get a 94 in the IDC course so my average will be 94.33333. Or even get a 95 so itll be 95.4 or whatever... regardless... ya my ave will be there lolol

but i could see how u made the mistake... you thought i got a 91 or something in the course, but i got a 75. i would be happy with a 91. no id be happty with a 92. so if i get a 92 my average will be 94 EVEN

i kinda just wanna post my supp :/

If you want my supp app just feel free to post or pm me and ill pm it to you smile

Hey SBLMTY,

I definitely showed that I was well rounded as well. I didn't really discuss my hobbies in the essay, but decided to include them in the list at the front. In particular, I chose to include my tennis and skiing hobbies because everything else I had there made me sound like an antisocial snob - that is something that I didn't want to be seen as.

As to answer your question, no I will not be attending the open house because (1) I don't have a way of getting there and (2) I have work that I have to go to on that day (instructing at the community centre...and I'm already probably missing one of the classes I'm supposed to teach...). That said, I am hoping for Peter Gzowski college (semi-private new rooms are awesome smile), but second choice is Champlain. Are you going to Trent?

I'm actually pretty worried about whether I'll be accepted to the Queen's Con. Ed (Arts) program. I've slacked off and now my top 6 are..
92, 91, 90, 90, 87, 83.
Therefore my average is a crappy 88.83%worry . I was the Chancellor's Scholarship Nominee for my school, and all of the charts I had to fill out in the application were completely filled with extracurriculars and experience. I'm just confused as to why on ASQ, it still says "Decision Pending" for the Concurrent Education program. Does anyone elses say that too?
I thought that maybe it would have at least changed to "Application is complete".

Queen's BA: Accepted

Don't worry.. I called Queen's and they really mean the same thing, it's just when they get around to updating it.

You guys here make me laugh.

That's really weird. I've never heard of a Chancellor's nominee who wasn't accepted. Maybe they're waiting for your English mark?

I'm sure they'll be doing a maaaassive round of ASQ updates and offers once midterm grades have been sent, so don't worry too much! The vast majority of people get accepted around second semester/ midterm time.

you should be a little worried. I mean you're marks are decent, but english is pretty low, you must have had a pretty bad teacher. I think you should've applied to lakehead instead, you're chances might have been better there. lol

Haha HEY COMMIE2014. Ms. Morris WAS a bad english teacher, considering you sat beside me in class!

But ya, I was only a nominee. I didn't receive the scholarship. But I did find out why it says "Decision Pending"! I called Queen's today and they said that they just haven't gotten around to changing people's statuses to "Application is Complete". They're focused more on changing them to "You have been made an offer of admission".
SO GREAT NEWS TO HEAR! smile

Heh, I chose the exact same, Peter Gzowski and then Champlain! I like the airy feeling and that avant-garde feel to the building smile
Well I'm still waiting on Queen's but might opt for Trent just for the free tuition.

Another reason for choosing Trent would be its secludedness, since I'm an avid photographer. I'm looking forward to minimal light pollution for those nighttime dreamscapes ;P.
I'm also thinking of working in the graphic design industry after the concurrent program and add the communications technology teachable to my belt, but we shall see.

Ya, I chose Trent for free tuition and secludedness too. For me, I like being secluded because the nature is always so much nicer when you get away from the city. I'm the type that likes to sit somewhere nice (like by the river) and read a book if need be. Being cooped up inside is not my idea of fun, but will still probably happen often in the winter, LOL.

Trent, and York/Sheridan for Graphic Design ;)

Sadly, I won't be going to the latter.
