I still would, it would help me tremendously for my intuition funds. I will save and possibly get my family a house if I had that much but first have to pay off all those debt and mortgage for my mom and dad. xD Not giving any to relatives I barely know. >>

yeahhh. that chunk of only won't last me a life time! say if i married into a rich family, then maybeee i wouldn't go to school.

What if you married rich, and then divorced? And you didn't get anything.. Then you wouldn't have any money or any education..

hence the maybee. but even if i do get divorced i'd get a chunk of money from custody. or maybe i'll go back to school after that. never too late for education razz

utsc next year!

Certainly some of, but not all of, the more desirable jobs would still require university.

With regards to the lottery question - that can put you in a situation where you're much more free to follow your passions, without worrying too much about how much money that passion will earn you (keep in mind here - $1 million is a nice amount to win, but not really enough to live off of the rest of your life without working unless you live fairly frugally or you're old enough that you don't expect to live that long). Some people's passions would still require a degree, some wouldn't. This being said, I think winning a big lottery (the ones more like $50 million) just messes you up. I'd much rather win $1 million than $10 million.

Why would you want $1 million instead of $10 million? Just give the extra money to family/friends/charity if you don't want it.

You could live decently well off $1 million. 5% per year is $50,000 and barely any of that would be taxed. That's more than many people make a year working.

I would invest the money to make more money and travel around the world. I think travelling is a more fun, first-hand learning experience than sitting in the classroom working for grades.

Thats an interesting question. I have thought about it many times in the past... I would still go to Post secondary school. .. and give half the money to my parents.... cuz they rule like that.. they have worked tremendously hard and paid my tuition in full and also they paid for my books. With my half of the money i would put part of it towards a Royal Library built in their names. It is my way of showing them that they have given me so much ... If i won the jackpot thats what i would do! but in reality all i can do to show my appreciation to them is do chores and be a good person. Maybe someday ... just someday my dreams will come true..... hopes yours do too.....

peace.

as crazy as this sounds i dont want to win the lottery. my sister is two years younger then me and my dad has bought her a 2007 altima, pays for all her expenses, and now hes in the middle of buying her a four bedroom house. (did i mention my sister is only 17??) ive seen what money does to people. she appreciates nothing in life because she has never had to work for it. i beleive that it just makes people less appreciative. I would still go to school to feel accomplished. another thing.....everyone hates rich people who are stupid lol

If I won the lottery, it would actually encourage me to go to school more. I'd hire all the private TAs I want, raise my average, get admitted to a prestigious university, and then make more money.

If it were more than 20 million (unlikely), then yes.

I'd disown my parents and squander my money on gambling and booze.
