I chose to create this topic because it was an interesting question. I wanted to know what other people thought. I personally will still go for post secondary education.

I would definatly still go to University! Money isn't everything in life, and knowledge is amazing! I think if I won the lottery, it would be amazing, but I love working hard towards something, and I would want to make a name for myself in the world, money would just be a tool for that. But, there are many people who would win the lottery and pass their days in blissful laziness, I'm sure.

hahaha yes an interesting question... I know I still would. The only thing that would change is lottery=more money=less need to apply for scholarships. I would still need to learn things and to change, because sitting around doing nothing is fun for a while, but it gets boring pretty quickly. Actually, I think if I won the lottery I would start some sort of scholarship fund for everyone who didn't win. I think it would be really cool to have a scholarship in your name... too bad I haven't won the lottery, so I'm applying for scholarships instead of creating them <3 Lucy

Of course. If i won the lottery, it'd be great so that i wouldn't have to worry about tuition.

Winning the lottery would be an added incentive, in my opinion, to attend a post-secondary institution. OSAP is deadly!

I'd love to win the lottery! That would be great. I would still go to school though because then I can just keep going in life like everyone else too. If I just sat at home when everyone else has an awesome job and friends to go to I would be very sad and upset.

as crazy as this sounds i dont want to win the lottery. my sister is two years younger then me and my dad has bought her a 2007 altima, pays for all her expenses, and now hes in the middle of buying her a four bedroom house. (did i mention my sister is only 17??) ive seen what money does to people. she appreciates nothing in life because she has never had to work for it. i beleive that it just makes people less appreciative. I would still go to school to feel accomplished. another thing.....everyone hates rich people who are stupid lol

Indeed. Education is everything now-adays [ as my mom says]. I would still go to College if I won the lottery. Even if my Parents won, and were well off, they would want us to get an education, and earn a living. Lottery wld definitley help with the large amount of fees.

Educate yourself for the sake of educating yourself. It doesn't need to be a means to an end. Post-secondary education will open your eyes to countless things that you might not otherwise learn about.

I would still attend university because it is one thing to win money and another to earn it. I want to excel at a profession and have a career.

Yes! I would still pursue post-secondary education. Not only would I continue going to school, if I won the lottery, I might never *stop* attending school!! It would be wonderful to have the financial means to continue with post-graduate learning... I would probably get my Master's degree and even go for a PhD !
Besides, if I won the lottery, I wouldn't keep all the money to myself: I would put a LOT of it aside to ensure my daughter could attend university, and I would repay my parents and family for all the help and support they are blessing me with while I am in school. I would also create an endowment fund to create a *HUGE* scholarship for graduates of the drug treatment centre I attended... There are so many challenges to overcome for those of us living a new, clean & sober life. It would be wonderful to help others who have struggled with drug and alcohol addictions so that they could go back to school and improve their future as I am doing. (BTW, I am clean and sober - meaning drug- and alcohol-free - for 2 years and 7 months now, and I am a straight-A student at the University of Windsor.) I feel like I've already won the lottery.... WOOT !!

I would definately still go to post secondary education. I wouldn't have to worry about tuition and it would be a great relief to know I have money to fall back on if something should happen. Also, I could take time off after university to build up my portfolio with volunteering without having to worry about having a job as well. And, of course, I wouldn't have to use OSAP and its deadly interest rates that I've been hearing so much about! Honours English Major/History Minor, York '12

I'm not sure that I would want to go to school, or any public place, on a daily basis, with the knowledge that anyone and everyone knows that I won the lottery. A lot of security issues with that scenario. Of course steps can be taken to decrease the chance of kidnapping(and don't act like it doesn't happen), such as an armed bodyguard.
Maybe I would go to school in a different country to remain anonymous.
